SINGLE FROM POSTSECONDARY ALSO LAUNCHES FLYAWAY CONTEST

7 March 2016 (Tornto, ON) - Lucas DiPasquale has unveiled a cinematic, globetrotting video for “Come Home,” on the UK-based Verge Magazine.  “Come Home” is the latest single from his debut EP, PostSecondary, which was released on October 2015 via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. The video follows Lucas as he travels between his hometown of Toronto, Jamaica and the UK, documenting both his newfound adventures and the wear’n’tear of being away on the road.  The video “backs up the cultural fusion of Lucas’ music and gives fans nothing but good feels.” (Verge) The track and the visuals feature reggae/dancehall artist Assassin (Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West). In celebration of the “Come Home” video, Lucas has launched a “Win a Trip Home” campaign in partnership with Spotify, which rewards one lucky winner a return flight home from anywhere in Canada, allowing them to visit with friends and family.  Complete details can be found at Lucas’ Facebook page. Lucas has come into his own since going viral with his acoustic mashup of songs by Jamaican dancehall artist Popcaan in 2014. With more than 350,000 views on YouTube , the dorm room recorded cover video led to a major cosign from Popcaan himself – the two share the single “No Talking” and performed together at Jamaica’s largest reggae fest, Dream Weekend 2014. Heralded by Noisey, the Fader, and Complex, the Toronto native has earned the praise of critics and adoration of fans with his infectious, reggae-infused pop arrangements. PostSecondary was produced by Stephen McGregor (Sean Paul, Bounty Killer) and Mojam (Sam Smith, Emeli Sande) and was recorded at the famed Tuff Gong Studios in Jamaica, as well as London and Toronto. The EP features four original tracks plus a special acoustic remix at Tuff Gong. While Lucas stands out for his genre-blending songwriting, his success ultimately relays back to his impeccable ear and musicianship. Lucas was named one of Spotify’s Spotlight Artists for 2016 and can already boast over one million streams on their platform, along with 1.5 million views on his Youtube channel. His first original single, “Do It Like,” featuring Stylo G, Kardinal Offishall and Konshens, reached #1 on the Urban Music Charts in UK. “An unrepentant banger that absolutely, categorically will blow the figurative roof off any sun soaked summer party,” (Complex ) the track made waves at BBC Radio 1Xtra , with a stamp of approval from leading dancehall deejay Seani B. In addition, Lucas’ music has also been on rotation at Radio 1 in the UK, Power Power 105.1 in New York and Jump FM in Ottawa. In December 2015, Lucas was invited by BBC 1Xtra to perform at the legendary Maida Vale studios, which has hosted performances by other notable artists such as The Beatles, Beyonce, Coldplay, and Ed Sheeran. Lucas is currently gearing up for South By Southwest 2016, where he will perform at M for Montreal’s event at Friends on March 16. Lucas will release his first full-length album this summer.
