(17 December 2012 – Toronto, ON) – Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company, announces 05 February 2013 as the release date of Shawn Desman’s fourth studio album, ALIVE. Among the songs featured on the album are Desman’s Gold-selling and chart-topping single, “Nobody Does it Like You” and the recent hit “Dum Da Dum.” Shortly after the release of his album, FRESH the Canadian singer/dancer/ songwriter/producer will release ALIVE in a way that no artist has done so before – in conjunction with a movie, set to the music of the upcoming album. The film, also titled ALIVE, will air on MuchMusic on album release day (05 February 2013) and will star Desman, Heartland’s Kaitlyn Leeb, Degrassi’s Melinda Shankar and Lost Girl’s K.C. Collins. “I couldn’t be happier about the upcoming album,” says Desman. “To release another record through Universal Music Canada and to have so many other elements be a part of this is amazing. The movie will provide my fans and audiences with a brand new way to experience music and to hear the tracks that will be available on the upcoming album.” As previously announced, Desman will also tour across Canada on his ‘ALIVE’ tour throughout the month of February, performing for fans in 14 cities from coast to coast. The tour will feature well-known Canadian songstress, Anjulie and will make stops in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Medicine Hat, Kelowna and Thunder Bay to name a few. His high-energy, infectious single, “Let’s Go,” exploded onto the Top 40 radio chart after just 1 week, peaking at #1. His most recent project after a five year hiatus was his third album FRESH.
