PHILLIPS TO PERFORM ON AMERICAN IDOL XIII MARCH 6

THE WORLD FROM THE SIDE OF THE MOON TOUR COMES TO CANADA MARCH 8

(Toronto, ON – Friday, 28 February 2014) – Platinum-selling recording artist and AMERICAN IDOL Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips will release his new single, “Raging Fire” on Monday, March 3 via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Written by Phillips and recorded in New York City with production by Gregg Wattenberg, “Raging Fire” will be available for digital download and streaming via digital subscription services, and is the first single off Phillips’ sophomore album which will be released this spring. In celebration of the new single, Phillips will return to the Idol stage to perform the song on Thursday, March 6. Following his Idol performance, Phillips will embark on his first headline tour across Canada.  The 14 city tour kicks off March 8 in Halifax and finishes March 28 in Vancouver. One of the biggest singles of 2012, the 5X platinum “Home” announced Phillips as a singer/guitarist of both rare authenticity and massive pop appeal. Centring on the artist’s rich, raspy vocals and masterful guitar skills, “Home” served as the lead single from his debut album, THE WORLD FROM THE SIDE OF THE MOON. Phillips’ platinum-selling, widely acclaimed debut also features the double-platinum single “Gone, Gone, Gone” and the Phillips’-penned “Where We Came From”, as well as a host of numbers that flaunt the 23-year-old Georgia native’s songwriting chops. Phillips spent most of 2013 on the road, touring with Matchbox 20, headlining a college tour, and bringing his rootsy brand of rock-and-roll to arenas around North America as the opening act for singer/songwriter John Mayer’s Born and Raised tour. Phillips took a break from recording his sophomore album in New York to perform at the NFL Tailgate Party at Super Bowl XLVIII.
