BAND CONFIRMED TO PERFORM AT THE 2013 CANADIAN COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION AWARDS™ AND RECEIVES ‘RISING STAR’ NOMINATION
(Toronto, ON. – 20 August 2013) – Canadian country duo Autumn Hill is set to release their debut album September 10 via Wax Records / Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. The album, Favourite Mistake, includes the singles “Can’t Keep Waiting”, “Anything At All”, and new single, “Fire” which is available at iTunes from today here. In addition, Autumn Hill has received their first Canadian Country Music Association Award nomination in the ‘Rising Star’ category, and will perform on the awards show airing September 08 on CBC-TV. Autumn Hill will also perform as part of Songwriters' Café at Country Music Week® in Edmonton, AB.
"September is going to be an exciting month, we finally get to share our music with everyone,” said female vocalist, Tareya Green. “We are incredibly excited to be a part of the CCMA Awards and are honoured to receive the Rising Star nomination and are thrilled to be performing alongside so many talented artists."
Now residing in Toronto, Mike Robins and Tareya Green became Autumn Hill after a fateful encounter at a party last winter. Since the impromptu live collaboration, where Mike started harmonizing with Tareya on a song they’d been writing for her then solo project, the two have been musically inseparable. Soon thereafter, the pair fled to Nashville where they wrote songs and recorded bed tracks for their album at the legendary Blackbird Studios with producer Dave Thomson (Lights, Kalan Porter, Tyler Kyte), then fleshed them out in Toronto with producer Tawgs Salter (Josh Groban, Lights, Walk Off The Earth).
“Anything At All” was the first single to come from the recording sessions and the song was warmly received by Canadian country fans, reaching the top 10 at Canadian radio. Watch the video for “Anything At All” here. The follow up single, “Can’t Keep Waiting” also reached top 10 at Canadian radio, and you can watch the video here.
Autumn Hill, who won the Country Music Association of Ontario’s ‘Rising Star’ award this year, have been playing festival dates across Canada this summer, debuting songs from Favourite Mistake as they gear up for the September 10 release.
