NEW KESHIA CHANTÉ ALBUM “NIGHT & DAY” TO BE RELEASED ON NOVEMBER 8
Monday, October 17, 2011 (Toronto, ON) – After a four year hiatus, Canada’s pop princess and Juno Award winner, Keshia Chanté will release her third album, Night & Day (tanjola/Universal Music Canada) on November 8. Night & Day is the follow up to Chanté’s 2006’s 2U album.
Night & Day features the up-tempo dance tracks “Set U Free”, written by chart-topping hit maker Taio Cruz, and “Shooting Star”, which is currently in heavy rotation on MuchMusic, MuchMore and MuchVibe. Two additional tracks have already earned Keshia two Juno nominations earlier this year; “Test Drive” (R&B/Soul Recording of the Year) and “Table Dancer” (Dance Recording of the Year). The album also features Keshia’s new single “Edit, Cut & Delete U”, which has just been serviced to radio.
Since releasing her self-titled and gold-selling debut album in 2003 at the age of sixteen, Keshia has released eight Top 10 singles and has received multiple awards, including the 2005 Juno Award for R&B/Soul Recording. As the current Youth Ambassador for CANFAR (Cdn Foundation for AIDS Research), Keshia recently traveled to Africa to understand the impact of HIV/AIDS first hand and continues to represent CANFAR at various events to help educate and inspire our youth.
Having starred as the lead actress in the TV series “Soul” in 2009, Keshia is now set to appear in the CBC TV movie “Sunshine Sketches of A Little Town”, Stephen Leacock’s classic tale of life in a small Ontario town. The film also stars Eugene Levy, Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, Rick Mercer, Caroline Rhea and Shawn Majumder, and is scheduled to air in early 2012.
