(Toronto, ON – 10 November 2014) — After a summer of quenching thirsts at local bars across Ontario, Sam Roberts Band Session Ale can now be enjoyed by craft beer lovers at home.  As Juno Award winning rockers Sam Roberts Band begin their Lo-Fantasy national tour, SRB Session Ale kicks off its tour of the LCBO, with a listing at stores across the province. In concert with Spearhead Brewing Company, SRB Session Ale was voted “Best Collaboration Beer” at the 2014 Session Craft Beer Festival and “Best Beer” at the 2014 Toronto Beer Week Drinker’s Choice Awards. Sam Roberts Band was intimately involved in the concept and creation of their signature beer.  “We relied on our expertise in the field of beer drinking,” says Roberts.  “It required a lot of quality control, rigorous research and development.”  When Roberts had his first sip of SRB Session Ale, he says it was like “hearing your song on the radio for the first time.” This extremely sessionable brew, with its rich amber colour and light body, was inspired by Roberts’ love of English ales.  Unfiltered and naturally carbonated, SRB Session Ale is brewed with three types of hops and four types of malt, offering a delicate carbonation and complex flavour and aroma.  At 4.5% ABV, SRB Session Ale is a year-round brew that spans all seasons. “A session of beer drinking is akin to a session of rock and roll," says Spearhead founder Dimitri van Kampen.  “Crank the volume and let Sam and the boys rock it out while you enjoy some SRB Session Ale with good friends.” Spearhead Brewing Company is an independent Toronto-based craft brewery that makes handcrafted beer in small batches.  Using unusual ingredients and brewing methods, Spearhead brews off-the-hook beer, Beer Without Boundaries®, that challenges the imagination.  Spearhead recently won "Best Brewery" at the 2014 Toronto Beer Week Drinker's Choice Awards.
