LANA DEL REY ANNOUNCES HER DEBUT ALBUM
‘BORN TO DIE’ OUT JANUARY 31
(8 December, 2011 – Toronto, ON.) – Music enthusiasts take note: Lana Del Rey announces the release of her highly anticipated album, Born To Die on January 31 (Interscope Records/Universal Music Canada).
Lana’s first single from Born To Die is “Video Games”, which began its life online in July. Since its debut, “Video Games” has amassed a legion of devoted followers and over 9 million views on YouTube.
Lana says, “The songs I’ve written are an homage to true love and a tribute to living life on the wild side.”
Rolling Stone recently featured Lana in their annual “Hot Issue” and Q Magazine awarded her as “Best New Thing” at the Q Awards in October. Toronto’s Now Magazine featured Lana on their cover for her highly anticipated sold out show earlier this month. Vogue.com called “Video Games” ‘Song of the year” – while GQ herald Lana ‘2012’s most striking new singer.’
Lana will soon release a new music video for the title-track, “Born To Die”, conceived by Lana and directed by Woodkid.
Lana’s December shows in NYC, LA and Toronto sold-out immediately and a full U.S. tour is planned for Spring 2012.
