In case it wasn’t already obvious, Shawn Mendes has officially transitioned from Vine sensation to singer-songwriter extraordinaire. Here’s proof:
Off his newly released Handwritten Revisisted, “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” which features Fifth Harmony‘s Camilia Cabello, Shawn reveals songwriting muscles he’d never used before: “This is my first time writing a song with another artist, and I think this is her first experience writing a song herself, too.” He went on to express how proud he is of his growth as a singer-songwriter, stating “It’s really exciting to be growing as a songwriter and as an artist. I’m feeling myself get better.”
Shawn and Camilia were the musical guests on James Corden’s Late Late Show, so it only made sense they performed “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” With an acoustic guitar in hand.
