Each year at The GRAMMYs we see new faces walk the red carpet, and fall in love with new talent.
In fact, there’s even a Grammy Award for “Best New Artist.” An award that has been won by iconic artists such as The Beatles — or if you were watching last year, Sam Smith! Isn’t it insane to imagine a world where we didn’t know those artist’s names?
Two of this years Best New Artist nominees are James Bay and Tori Kelly.
Not only were the pair nominated, but they had a (incredible) performance together during the award show. If you didn’t know their names before, you likely do now!
A few weeks prior, it was announced that they were to do a duet together and the internet – where both their music careers were born – went insane! When the two posted this pic online, the fact that they would be at the Grammy Awards & performing together became very real. And very exciting!

// Together, they performed “Let It Go“ off James Bay’s Chaos and the Calm and “Hollow“ from Tori Kelly’s Unbreakable Smile. How amazing was it?? Can they please tour together, like ASAP!
While we’re usually glued to our phone tweeting the night away, this moment had us paying full attention. Their voices together in the acoustic version of both songs gave us chills. We can’t even imagine what it felt like to be in that theater hearing it first hand. This performance explained to us all why they are Grammy nominees. Did you catch the standing ovation they got? We were standing too, from home! What an incredible moment for the both of them. This definitely won’t be a forgotten performance at all.
Ps. How cute was their celebratory hug at the end?
FUN FACT: We found this tweet from Tori in 2010.
I would love to go to the grammy’s one day! Get all dressed up and walk the red carpet and smile till your jaws hurt! Yeah! — Tori Kelly (@ToriKelly) January 31, 2010
It makes us smile from ear to ear knowing that her dream came true! We also can’t help but giggle at Tori’s “dreams being lived” instagram post:
