Canada just celebrated our 149th year since leaving the nest that is Great Britain.
But let’s be real – independent as we may be, we all still melt when we hear a good British accent or see a British bulldog.
It’s safe to say we haven’t totally forgotten our roots. We spell colour with a ‘U’ and the queen still gives us a judgmental glance as we spend our money on yet another drink at the bar. Although, we’re sure Liz would agree that music is something that her royal subjects can do well:
To commemorate our friends across the pond, we’ve collected some of our favourite tunes to come out of Britain. So pour yourself a cuppa tea, break out the crumpets and enjoy this list of fresh songs hailing from the motherland – including tracks from Mumford and Sons, Bastille and Daughter.
Bastille – “Good Grief”
Daughter – “Fossa”
Years and Years – “Shine”
Oh Wonder – “Lose It”
Mumford and Sons – “There Will Be Time”
Daughter – “Borrowed Time”
James Bay – “Let It Go”
Ellie Goulding – “Here’s To Us”
Loyle Carner – “Stars and Shards”
