The internet is literally going Gaga for Gaga.
Earlier this month, she released the highly anticipated single “Perfect Illusion“, bringing her back into the spotlight. Today, the Queen secures the throne by announcing the name and release date for her new album “Joanne“.

SO WHO IS JOANNE?
Is Joanne Gaga’s new alter ego? While many artists have chosen to adopt new personalities in the past (ie. Ziggy Stardust or Sasha Fierce), “Joanne” is in fact not a new Gaga persona.
The album is named after her late aunt, who died at a young age. Between 2014 – 2016, Gaga left the spotlight and spent her time reconnecting with her family and friends. It was during this time that she discovered the challenges that her late aunt faced, and in turn inspired her to become who she is today. In her interview on Beats 1 Gaga says ” She is the woman of my past who is becoming and helping me bring more of my honest woman self into the future.”
The album art is said to contain memoirs of Joanne, including handwriting and images from her life.
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT?
Earlier this week, she revealed collaborations with Florence Welch on a track titled “Hey Girl”. Today she gave us insights into a few more tracks. “John Wayne” featuring Josh Homme, will explore her “…incessant need to run after wild men”, while “Sinner’s Prayer” featuring Father John Misty will be about breaking a man’s heart and acknowledging it. Finally, it seems we may get a bit of Bollywood and country flare, as Gaga mentions a contribution from country singer Hilary Lindsey.
“Joanne” will be Gaga’s fifth and highly anticipated album dropping October 21st, 2016.
We are SO excited to see what it has in store. Plus you know what this means?

While we wait for a video for this one to drop, listen to “Perfect Illusion” one more time (or two).
