This track just keeps breaking record after record after record! It was just recently named the most streamed song EVER, and now “Despacito” has done it again with its music video. 😲👏
After just seven months, the video has amassed more than 3 billion views!! The previously most viewed music video, was Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth’s “See You Again”. Though it took the “See You Again” video two years to dethrone the “Gangnam Style” video, which is now in third place for the most viewed video, “Despacito” took only seven months to climb to the #1 spot.
The original “Despacito” video garners approximately an extra 15 million (yes, million), views per week. Want to be one of those 15 mill? Check it out below:
Co-writer of the track, Erika Ender, told Forbes:
“The truth was that we [her and Luis Fonsi] never ever thought that it was going to get this big. We knew we had a hit in our hands, but we never thought that the world was going to be singing in Spanish.”
