Another one for the books.
The MTV EMAs have come and gone for another year and whether you missed the event or need a recap of everything that went down, we’ve got you covered. With Shawn Mendes sweeping up three awards and Eminem taking the stage to perform his brand new hit “Walk On Water” featuring Beyonce, there was no shortage of exciting moments.
On top of recently making music history, Shawn Mendes can now add his EMAs for Best Artist, Best Fans and Best Song with “There’s Nothing Holding Me Back” to his list of accomplishments.
Accepting his award for Best Artist, Shawn was nothing but humble, acknowledging the other nominees (which included Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Miley Cyrus) in the category, “They’re people I’ve looked up to my entire life and to be nominated with them is a crazy honor.”
Another unreal moment happened when Eminem performed his new song “Walk On Water” alongside a string orchestra. He then went on to scoop up the award for Best Hip Hop Artist.
More amazing performances came when Liam Payne got the crowd out of their seats to dance along to “Strip That Down” while Demi Lovato impressed everyone with her renditions of “Sorry Not Sorry” and “Tell Me You Love Me”.
Julia Michaels also looked stunning as she hit the red carpet for her very first EMAs and we cannot wait to see her at next year’s shindig.
