Try out these little life hacks.
Setting New Year’s Resolutions is always fun, but keeping up with them for an entire year? Not so much. With 2018 just around the corner, we’re not too hopeful when it comes to fulfilling a year long commitment we set when our judgement was probably clouded in one way or another. So to combat this little issue, we’ve come up with some pretty foolproof ways to keep those resolutions in tact for the long year ahead of us.
You may be thinking that these resolutions are unachievable – we’re here to tell you that they’re not. With a little commitment and constant motivation, the plan for a *new* you will come about. So here are a few life hacks to make 2018 our best year yet.
Life Hack #1 – Stay Committed.
It’s time to get a serious now. We all know that our 2017 New Year’s resolutions kicked our butts and we’re here thinking that 2018 will do the same. But as long as we get super committed to our goals this time, we’ll be golden.
Life Hack #2 – Make Your Goals Measurable.
Setting goals such as working out and eating healthy are the two resolutions we ALWAYS write down. But what makes this so difficult is that it’s vague. It has no end goal with a measurable result.
SO it’s time to turn your goals into numbers. For example, turn the work out goal into working out three times a week, one hour each session. This way, you’ll have a goal that is achievable and can be ticked off your list.
Life Hack #3 – Write Everything Down.
And we mean EVERYTHING. If you’re in need of a visual aid to keep organized then this is a definite must. Write down all your goals for 2018 – whether it be in a personal diary or a little note on your phone. Whatever floats your boat.
If you want to get a little creative – write down each resolution on a sticky note and place them on your mirrors. This way, every morning you’ll have a reminder staring back at you when you’re getting ready to start your day!
Life Hack #4 – Take Baby Steps.
As always, goals will not happen over night. It won’t happen right away. If your goal is to get fit, start your workout with a nice morning stroll and work that up to a run, and so on and so forth. This way, you can get your body used to the constant physical activity.
Life Hack #5 – Set Alarms.
Set alarms! This will be the perfect reminder that you need on a daily basis. And eventually it will become a routine for you.
Life Hack #6 – Reward Yourself.
Think back to the time you’re studying for a test. Have you ever placed candies at stop points of a textbook and rewarded yourself with a treat? This is our New Year’s Resolutions version of that. If you hit a goal than you deserve a reward, there’s no use in completing all these things without being able to bask in the glory.
So give yourself a little treat every now and then, you deserve it!
Life Hack #7 – Enlist Friends & Family.
Lastly, don’t do these resolutions alone. It’s definitely a lot easier if you have someone to constantly motivate you (and go through the pain with you). Starting out any New Year’s resolutions can be a little difficult, so having a buddy definitely helps.
