But really need to.
Unless you’ve been living underneath a rock these past few years, you’ve probably heard of Troye Sivan. After the release of his debut album Blue Neighbourhood two years ago, the Australian pop star has quickly risen to stardom around the world. He has big things on the horizon for 2018 and to get you ready for it, we’ve gathered five things you didn’t know about him!
He has quite the YouTube following.
4.45 million subscribers to be exact. But it didn’t happen overnight. Troye joined YouTube back in 2012 and has kept himself busy making a ton of videos. One in particular – The Boyfriend Tag with Tyler Oakley – earned a Teen Choice Award back in 2014.
He’s an honorary Canadian.
At least by our standards. You’d be surprised to learn his discography includes quite a few Canadian collaborations. Eclectic pop singer/songwriter Allie X co-wrote a few tracks on Troye’s debut record Blue Neighborhood including “Youth” and is expected to contribute on next record. In 2016, Troye paired up with Brampton girl Alessia Cara to remix his track “Wild”. They even filmed their music video in Toronto with a scene at The Danforth Bowl.
He’s now the face of Valentino’s Menswear
Troye is no stranger to the world of fashion. He’s walked the Yves Saint Laurent runway, graced the cover of V Magazine, and has modeled for American Eagle all in the past few years.

He’s starring in a movie.
And not just any movie. He’s coined to star alongside Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman in Joel Edgerton’s Boy Erased; an LGBT coming of age film set for release this September. Read more about it here.
His new music is 🔥
“My My My” is the first single from Troye’s sophomore album and first release since his collaboration “There For You” with Martin Garrix last year. Troye teased some of the visuals for the song on his Twitter page and needless to say, we are not prepared for this glorious new era. It also doesn’t hurt to know that the video was directed by Grant Singer; known for his work on The Weeknd’s Starboy and Taylor Swift/Zayn’s I Don’t Want To Live Forever.
