The pressure and expectations that people place when your predecessors has been one of the biggest success stories can be a daunting thought. However, K-pop boy group TXT has been taken under BTS’ wing and bring their own unique charisma, and energy to the industry.

Signed under Big Hit Entertainment – what once was a small entertainment company in South Korea and is now worth 50.2 billion KRW ($44.41 million US) in 2018 – TXT’s debut has been long awaited. TXT, which stands for TOMORROW X TOGETHER, is the first boy group to debut under Big Hit Entertainment in 6 years. The previous boy group was the insanely successful group, BTS, which debuted in 2013.

TXT consists of 5 members – Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai.
The group debuted on March 4, 2019 with their first EP entitled The Dream Chapter: Star and the title track ‘Crown’. The song was an instant success as it accumulated 15.5 million views within its first 24 hours – the second highest amount of views for any K-pop groups debut. They also managed to top the iTunes Top Album chart in 44 territories.
TXT’s debut was also celebrated as they had a TV special titled TOMORROW X TOGETHER Debut Celebration Showcase which was presented by Mnet. The special aired the same day as their debut. This allowed fans to be taken behind the scenes, see the group perform, and get to know the new group’s personalities better.
They received their first music show win on March 12, 2019, only 8 days after their debut, for their song ‘Crown’ on SBS’ The Show. This accomplishment made TXT the second fastest group to achieve their first music show win.
It wasn’t long after that TXT had their first comeback. They released the music video for their song ‘Cat & Dog’ from their first EP on May 3, 2019. The group also released an English version of the song as well!
