Posted on February 14, 2020

Happy New Music Friday x Valentine’s Day! Whether you have plans with your best friends, your significant other, your family, or your headphones – today is a good day. And these releases are here to reassure us that we are literally never alone, so shoutout to good tunes and even better artists.

No Time to Die by Billie Eilish

Sweeping the Grammy’s, wowing us at the Oscar’s, and now featuring on the soundtrack of one of Hollywood’s biggest films! How is this only the second month of 2020? Her single No Time To Die crowns Billie as the youngest artist to ever write and record a James Bond theme song. Billie and Finneas have adapted their brilliant creativity to the Bond theme and invented this carefully crafted ballad for the upcoming film, James Bond 007: No Time To Die. Her unparalleled vocals atop harmonious orchestral arrangements are nothing less than captivating. Be sure to catch this single in the film this spring on April 10th, 2020.

To Die For by Sam Smith

After the recent surprise announcement for their upcoming album, Sam Smith is pulling on our heartstrings with the title track To Die For. In just one listen you will unmistakably agree with Sam and the fact they “poured their heart and soul into this song”. Whether we will be dancing to tracks like I Feel Love or pouring our heart out to tracks like To Die For we are here for it all. The full album is all yours May 1st but don’t worry, you can pre-order it here.

Changes by Justin Bieber

We knew it was coming but the day has finally arrived! Bieber has gifted us with his fifth studio album. Changes is full of confessions, to us, to his faith, to his wife, and most definitely to himself. From teen heartthrob to male rebel we are finally hearing where he struggled and how he is healing. Not as upbeat or pop-oriented as his previous albums, Changes has slowed things down – in parallel to Bieber’s real life. The vocally driven, romantic, and spiritual album has our minds at ease for Bieber. All tickets for his upcoming tour are now on sale, you can find the dates here.

Soul is Mine by Malachi

Toronto’s own, Malachi, has released his new single Soul Is Mine along with an intimate video. The single showcases his smooth vocals while the black and white video pulls on emotion. The single calls on the lessons learned from a long time relationship and its breakup as well. Malachi just wants us to know after the heartbreak there is “healing and growth”.

The Slow Rush by Tame Impala

With time on their mind, Tame Impala has released their fourth studio-album The Slow Rush. The album addresses relationships, the past, the unfamiliar future, and simply being human. It addresses the cycle of life and how we often let it pass right before our eyes. Kevin Parker’s synth-heavy, psychedelic sound takes us to a lot of different places and without a doubt, is a journey to be had! There is no question that Tame Impala is committed to evolution and it is fair to say we are ready to continue on that ride.
