New Music Friday: Taylor Swift, Valley, Slowthai, and more!

Posted on February 12, 2021

Valentine’s Day, the long weekend AND a lineup of eight new releases? Pinch us, we must be dreaming! We’ve got tunes from Valley, Florida Georgia Line and Eli Rose that will make you forget all about the week ahead.

Speaking of living in the moment, check out this playlist fit for Teenage Love.

Taylor Swift “Love Story (Taylor’s Version)”

It’s official! Taylor Swift’s journey of re-recording her entire catalogue is in full swing and to say we’re excited is an understatement. Swifties have been waiting for this moment ever since “Love Story (Taylor’s Version)” was featured in a Match commercial produced by none other than Ryan Reynolds. Go big or go home, right?

The re-recorded version of “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” is on its way very soon. Check the message she posted on Instagram for a special hint.

Valley “Like 1999”

Ryan Cain

What’s that old wedding saying; something old, something new? Well, Valley has that energy down pat. “Like 1999” is the epitome of nostalgia with a modern twist. A couple weeks ago, the band teased “Like 1999” on TikTok and you can guess what happened next. The video blew up, leaving Valley with no choice but to give the fans what they want.

Valley is a Canadian gem that we are never letting go of. If you’re new to Valley, listen to “Like 1999” here.

Lil Mosey “Enough”

If you’re looking for a V-Day anthem, here it is. In “Enough,” Lil Mosey wants to slow it down and strengthen his relationship. The song comes just a week after his feature on Smokepurpp’s “We Outside,” an upbeat track about going out and living life to the fullest. “Enough” comes as quite a contrast to Mosey’s recent releases and shows off his versatility and vulnerability.

Eli Rose “Alibi Remixes Part 2”

Ryan Shepard

Two words for Eli Rose’s voice: soooo dreamy. But we can go on; hypnotic, entrancing, spellbinding – just tell us when to stop!

Following the success of her single “Alibi” back in October 2020, Québécois singer Eli Rose continues to make waves. The song was introduced in a double-single release, offering the song in both English and French. Since then, the song has multiplied with one set of remixes in December and a second set this week.

Slowthai “Tyron”

Almost all great artists have a self-titled album, and that’s exactly what this is. Named after himself (Slowthai AKA Tyron Kaymone Frampston), “TYRON” comes just a couple days after the release of his single ‘CANCELLED,’ which gave fans a taste of what to expect in this new album, released on February 12, 2021.

Florida Georgia Line “Life Rolls On”

Florida Georgia Line has been on a “roll” for the past few years (get it?!) releasing consistent bangers one after the other. If the album “Life Rolls On” is anything like the title track released on January 15th, fans are sure to love these vibes. This new album is all about slowing down to appreciate the little things in life and taking the bad with the good.

Peach Tree Rascals “OOZ”

Peach Tree Rascals are the CEO of ambient pop that takes you away. “OOZ” is like a three-minute vacation to a sunny destination and that’s more than good enough for us.

Clever feat. Chris Brown “Rolls Royce Umbrella”

We have to say – this is the first we’ve ever heard of a “Rolls Royce Umbrella,” but we want one in our lives. The song details a life of luxury that Clever worked hard to reach and his rhymes are, well, clever!

This release follows “In My Hands,” a collaborative project featuring Zero 9:36 and Travis Barker.
