Those weeks between Winter and Spring can feel so long but fear not; we have enough new releases to get you through the whole season with our biggest lineup yet! From Lil Baby to Elton John to Julia Michaels, we’ve got you covered.
Johnny Orlando & DVBBS – “I Don’t”

Just a few months after the release of an epic JUNO Award-nominated EP (It’s Never Really Over), Johnny Orlando returns to the scene with “I Don’t”. The insanely catchy dance track is a collaborative effort between Orlando and fellow Canadians / DJ Duo – DVBBS. It’s a slight departure from Johnny’s usual sound, landing in the electropop realm, but we’re totally here for it.
The lyrics are already proving to be a source of comedic gold over on TikTok. And with the lyric video drawing in thousands of streams in the first 24 hours, we have high hopes for the release of an official music video starring the 18-year-old phenomena.

Cian Ducrot – “Crocodiles”

Whether you first heard Cian Ducrot’s angelic voice on TikTok, Snapchat, or here at UMUSIC, fans across all platforms can agree that “Crocodiles” is the realest song of 2021. In the song, Cian calls out somebody who has been untruthful and in need of a reality check.
Cian introduced this single on TikTok yesterday and revealed exactly what the song is about. Check out the TikTok video here!

Benny Blanco ft Gracie Abrams – “Unlearn”

We hope you brought tissues for this one because you’re going to need ’em! This song will fit perfectly on those sad, rainy day playlists with Gracie’s sweet voice telling the story of a heartbreak. We hope to never “Unlearn” these lyrics.
Fans were blown away by Gracie’s stripped down version of “Unlearn” that she posted on her TikTok and while she calls it “baggage from past relationships,” we’re grateful for it.

Donna Missal – “Sex Is Good (But Have You Tried)”

If you haven’t heard Donna Missal’s captivating voice yet, you’re in for a real treat. In “Sex Is Good (But Have You Tried,” Miss Missal teaches us about, ahem, self love in a way that is different than we’re used to in the pop industry.
The song started out as an acapella draft so, naturally, she kept the emphasis on her vocals in the studio recording. The instrumentals in the song are super low-key to let her vocals shine with a reflective, all-consuming effect.

Arkells ft. K. Flay – “You Can Get It”

The Juno-Award winning group teamed up with rapper/singer-songwriter K. Flay on this vibrant new record. Between the blaring horns and the cheeky lyrics about simply getting what you want, ‘You Can Get It’ is a bonafide hype anthem.
The band had been teasing the music video’s Wheel of Fortune theme on their Instagram for the past week and it was awesome to see it all come to fruition. The video takes a spin on the classic television show while also evoking a sense of nostalgia for some of our favourite pre-Covid activities.

Death From Above 1979 – “Is 4 Lovers” [Album]

Rock fans were amped when DFA1979 came out of hiatus after dropping “One+One” last month. We think it’s safe to say that they’ll be absolutely elated with the release of their brand new album “Is 4 Lovers”. The self-produced record is the fourth studio album from the iconic duo and is sure to fill the void longtime fans have felt since the group’s last project release back in 2017.
As the title suggests, the song material revolves around love, but not in the traditional sense – take a listen to see what we’re talking about.

Zeds Dead has been working on this mixtape for over four years and are ready to show us a new side of them we’ve never seen before.

NF – “Clouds” [Mixtape]

NF is no stranger to New Music Friday and we are excited to finally announce the release of his “Clouds” Mixtape. In true NF fashion, his style is kept dark and minimal which we love because it really lets those lyrics and overall vibe shine.
“Clouds” follows the release of his single with the same title as well as one called “LOST.”

Demi Lovato – “Dancing With The Devil”

In “Dancing With The Devil” Demi takes us through her struggle with addiction. The song was featured in her new documentary with the same name, a tell-all about what was really happening during those years when her name was constantly in the news.
This is Demi’s second single of 2021 and is just the start of something big.

Julia Michaels – “All Your Exes”

If scientists needed someone to test out their new time travelling tech, Julia Michaels would be the perfect candidate. In “All Your Exes,” she wishes she could erase any trace of an Ex before she was around – and we don’t blame her.
“All Your Exes” is the latest of Julia Michael’s string of earworm bops, following releases like “Issues,” “If The World Was Ending,” and “What A Time (feat. Niall Horan.”
