‘Fan Account of the Month’ (#FAOTM) is a fan-appreciation series on UMUSIC!
At UMUSIC, we acknowledge and value the efforts of fans from around the world. The passion, dedication and love fans have for their favourite artists is something the team at UMUSIC has admired for a long time. For this reason, UMUSIC has decided to feature a fan account every month. This will give our UMUSIC community the opportunity to learn about different fandoms, their hardworking members and more about the artists!
Fan account: A social media account created by a fan dedicated to a particular piece of pop culture. This series will focus on fan accounts dedicated to artists.
Update account: A fan-run social media source for fan accounts. An update account serves as the main source of updates on a specific artist. An update account will gather all media, promotional items, and information on an artist and share the information with other fans. Think of update accounts as a constantly updated Wikipedia for fans. This series will also focus on update accounts, which are simply larger fan accounts.

May’s fan account of the month features the TOMORROW X TOGETHER fan page, @CANADAXTXT, that has been updating fans on everything TXT since 2020. The account is run by 4 stans, based out of Canada. Katrina, Jana, Maryam and Chalotorn started their account around May of 2020 during The Dream Chapter: Eternity era, but moved to a new (and current) account in September 2020 in time for minisode 1: Blue Hour.
“Hi, I’m Katrina and I live in Vancouver, BC. I’ve been following TXT’s journey since pre-debut. After their 2019 release, The Dream Chapter: Magic, they became my ULT group.”
“Hi, I’m Jana! I’m from Toronto, ON. I’ve also been a fan of TXT since pre-debut. It was when I heard the first song off The Dream Chapter: STAR, called “Blue Orangeade,” I knew that this group was going to be very special to me.”
“Hello, I’m Maryam and I live in Brampton, ON. I became a fan of TXT when I first heard their title track from minisode1: Blue Hour. This song was very bright and comforting to me. It was at this moment I knew that I would be a fan for a really long time.”
“Hello, I’m Chalotorn! I’m from Kitchener, ON. Like Katrina and Jana, I’ve been a fan of TXT since pre-debut, and have continued to support and love them ever since! I still remember the day of their debut as I stayed up super stressed about my finals, but super excited to see what they had to offer. I can definitely say, I do not regret a single thing!“
TXT CANADA is a fanbase that is responsible for promoting, updating and supporting TXT’s music and activities here in Canada. They promote their latest releases by posting streaming and buying links that report to the Canadian charts, update on TXT trending or charting within Canadian platforms, and support TXT by engaging with their content. They also request TXT’s latest title tracks for Canadian radio stations WEEKLY. Last but not least, they held an in-person cupsleeve event in Vancouver/Toronto and hope to host more in the future! So definitely keep an eye on their account for announcements 👀
The team at UMUSIC interviewed the TXT CANADA administrators about their love for TXT, their favourite moments and much more. Below is a collection of their answers…
1. Why are you a fan of TOMORROW X TOGETHER?
Jana: I am a MOA because I really enjoy their music! On top of that, the members are genuine and funny people that I can relate to. I’m grateful to be supporting a group of very talented and hardworking boys.
Chalotorn: TXT are a group that truly represents youth. Many topics that they speak about in their music and live streams include growing pains, changes in friendship and relationships, and surviving the pandemic — I feel like they were able to let me process my emotions in various forms, while comforting me. It feels like supporting a friend who just wants to do good for the world.
2. What makes TXT so unique?
Jana: I believe what makes TXT so unique is their ability to adapt to a wide range of genres. From their bright, bubbly debut song “CROWN” to their recent darker, angsty sound for “Good Boy Gone Bad”, TXT’s talents shine through any concept and they can make any style their own. Even their song titles are super unique — their first four albums had super long titles and for The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE and FIGHT OR ESCAPE, the titles had numbers and symbols.
Katrina: THE STAR SEEKERS (the shared universe centred around TXT’s music videos) is very intricate and thought-out. This idea was around before TXT’s debut and has become more common in K-Pop in recent years, but the inclusion of special photocards, merchandise, non-music related videos and even a webtoon makes TXT stand out! They’ve been building up the story since the teasers for their debut and it’s always fun to see what else is added to the story with each new comeback.
3. What about TXT resonates with you?
Katrina: How creative their music videos are! I’ll never get sick of watching them. TXT debuted during my second year as an animation student. Right from the get go, their music video for “CROWN” caught my eye with its fun animation and popping colours. While their more recent releases haven’t included animation, they have a number of videos that do! One of my favourites is their short film “The Doom’s Night”.
Jana: TXT’s lyrics are no doubt one of the things that I resonate with the most. For example, “We Lost The Summer” — being cooped up at home and watching the warm weather pass by due to the world situation. Summer 2020 truly felt like the shortest summer I’ve ever had. TXT has a knack for making relatable songs for Gen Z and the youth of today.
Maryam: What resonates with me about TXT is how genuine, unique, loving and cool they are. I really enjoy their various personalities, style and concepts. They always show us different and new sides to them every comeback. As a MOA, I never get bored stanning TXT. Although I may not have been there since the beginning, I can still see TXT’s growth and improvements. They are one of the few groups who are exploring different concepts and don’t just stick to one genre. For instance, their recent comeback minisode2: Thursday’s Child has 3 different album photo concepts: “HATE”, “END” and “MESS”. TXT were able to successfully pull off the 3 in only one comeback.
Chalotorn: As I mentioned in the previous answer, TXT allows me to reflect on myself and my life. Just like me, they’re adults growing up in this fast-paced world trying to figure out how we all fit in. They display various emotions in their art, whether that be through music videos, songs or even performances. They give me a lot of comfort, even at times when I don’t know how I’m feeling. A song that really resonated with me is from their debut album The Dream Chapter: STAR called “Nap of a Star.” Especially as I, like many others, had to deal with staying home. I was just anxious about the future. The song felt like a direct support to my heart and healed me to look for a brighter day. Not to mention, I loved all the creative products that have come out beyond just their music. Their concepts and album design really intrigued me, since I am pursuing a career in graphic design. It motivated me to want to do many cool things, as well!
4. How would you describe the MOA fandom?
The MOA fandom is quite a diverse group — a mixture of different ages and experiences with K-Pop. Most of our team have been fans of K-Pop for years now and it is refreshing to meet MOAs who are experiencing their first TXT comeback, or purchasing their first TXT album etc. Being able to help MOAs and learn alongside them is our favourite thing to do!
5. When and how did you first discover TXT? What was the first song you heard?
Katrina: I learned about TXT when Big Hit announced they would debut another boy group. A friend and I watched all their introduction films and videos before class because they dropped at 8am for us. So the first song I heard was their debut “CROWN”!
Jana: I discovered TXT when there were rumours in late 2018 that Big Hit was going to debut a new boy group. Then in January 2019, the first member Yeonjun was revealed with his introduction film, with the other members following suit. I remember having to guess which member’s voice was who! The first song I heard was their debut song “CROWN”.
Maryam: The first song I have ever heard was “Blue Hour” which is their title track from minisode1: Blue Hour. This song was very bright, colourful and soothing. I could not stop listening to this song.
Chalotorn: Similar to Katrina and Jana, I also heard about TXT through the announcement of Big Hit. I still remember when I saw the teaser drop and we were first introduced to Yeonjun, I immediately thought about how playful he was in his introduction film, and how excited I was to see the rest of the group. My favourite introduction video was Hueningkai’s, as he displayed many moments of yellows and yellow is my favourite colour (haha!). With that, I stayed up all night to wait for their debut, listening to “CROWN” for the first time and continuing on to watch the rest of their debut show!
6. Are there any lyrics of theirs that have had an impact on you?
Jana: Similar to the previous question and “We Lost The Summer”, the title track for The Dream Chapter: Eternity called “Can’t You See Me?” expressed loneliness in a friend group so perfectly, as it’s not a topic that is brought up in common situations. I wasn’t aware other people had these emotions like I did. And because of that, it’s one of my favourite songs.
Chalotorn: As I mentioned previously, one of my favourite songs is “Nap of a Star,” because of how much comfort it gives me. One specific lyric in the song goes “To the me who was crying so much, don’t worry” came to me like a hug. When I was younger, I used to see crying, especially in front of people as a sign of weakness and to never show that to people. Though, I later realized that I should embrace and accept that every emotion is powerful and that crying is something I shouldn’t be ashamed of!
Katrina: TXT’s more upbeat songs also include amazing lyrics. The lyrics of “Poppin’ Star” are fun and whimsical and never fail to put a smile on my face, but there’s also a mischievous element with lyrics like “Isn’t this perhaps something that the country has allowed / Something that only we have hidden / Alright, it’s something, that’s not allowed for just anyone”. For some reason I always think about that line and wonder if there’s something hidden in the song. The message of self-acceptance in “CROWN” resonates a lot with me as well as a bisexual woman and I know many LGBTQ+ MOAs who feel the same way.
Mary: I was going through a lot of hardships in 2020 and “Blue Hour” really comforted me. One of my favourite lines is “The door of my dreams unseal / You from my memories become real” sang by Yeonjun.
7. What TXT music video stands out the most to you and why?
Katrina: “Nap of a Star” is so hauntingly beautiful. The set pieces look like illustrations and shot to resemble a stop motion animation or silent film. It feels like an animated short film, I’ve never seen a music video like it. It’s also the first instalment of TXT’s THE STAR SEEKERS Universe!
Jana: Music videos like “Run Away” and “0X1=LOVESONG” stand out the most to me with their pool scenes. Sounds super random and specific, but there’s just something magical about TXT when they jump into the pools. It’s like a little fun break for the boys, before the music video begins to climax and gets serious. You can feel the chaos and build-up of the storyline towards the end of the song in both music videos, and I think that is so cinematic and executed perfectly.
Maryam: The music videos that stand out to me the most are “Blue Hour” and “Can’t You See Me?”. The concept photos, the style, the set — everything was just perfect. “Blue Hour” was the first song I’ve ever heard so it holds a very special place in my heart. “Can’t You See Me?” was dark compared to “Blue Hour”. My favourite part is when the house catches on fire — it was very cool. It is one of TXT’s most captivating music videos. Also, I am obsessed with the choreography of both these songs.
Chalotorn: I would definitely have to say “Run Away”! From the beginning of the music video with the peaceful instrumental, it was kind of like the calm before the storm unravelling feelings of an adolescent. I still remember watching the music video and reading the first line “It feels like everybody’s happy but me” and just… really felt it in my heart. One of my favourite scenes from the music video is when the members form a clock ticking, it looked so cool and I’ve always looked forward to seeing the performances just to see a glimpse of it!
8. How would you describe the new Thursday’s Child era? What do you think is next?
Jana: minisode2: Thursday’s Child tells the story of a boy and his first break-up. Each track goes through what almost seems like the five stages of grief: with “Opening Sequence”, the boy is realizing he never saw the signs of his relationship falling apart, and it replays in his mind like the beginning of a movie. The title track “Good Boy Gone Bad” is the result of his heartbreak – he is no longer playing the good guy. Then the last track “Thursday’s Child Has Far to Go” (referencing to the old nursery rhyme), the boy is learning to accept his heartbreak and is having his #BreakUpGlowUp. Personally, I think the next step and sound TXT should go for is a fun, powerful pop song 一 I just want them to be happy!
Katrina: I’m also thinking the next step is going back to a happier concept. “Anti-Romantic” and “Trust Fund Baby” were both ballads with a cynical view on love, so I’m hoping to see a more romantic ballad in their next album. TXT’s song “Love Sight” from the drama Doom at Your Service proved they can handle that sort of sound and I would love to hear more!
9. Who would you like to see them collaborate with in the future?
We’d love to hear another song like TXT’s latest collab “PS5”, which was a super fun EDM song with salem ilese and Alan Walker! Yeonjun even created a dance that a lot of people participated in through TikTok. Since TXT has such a diverse range of music, all their collabs have been amazing. While we don’t have anyone in particular that we would like to see them collaborate with in the future, we know they’ll rock any collab they do! We’ll be sure to support them!
10. Do you own any TXT merch? If not, is there anything you want to get?
Katrina: Too much… I own every single one of their Korean and Japanese albums, as well as some general merch both official and non-official. My favourite piece of official merch I have is a striped boat neck shirt from their The Dream Chapter: Eternity era, and my favourite unofficial merch are the Molang plushies that are dressed up as TXT’s representative animals. The creator of Molang made them after finding out Hueningkai collects the plushies!
Jana: That’s a really funny question… because maybe I own too much TXT merchandise! I mainly collect their albums, and miscellaneous merchandise I have include: their lightstick, photocards, TXT memories, Yeonjun’s “Run Up” hoodie and TXT’s “Little Wishes” scarf. Just like Katrina, I have Hueningkai’s representative Molang plush. If concert tickets count as merchandise, then I want to get that!
Maryam: I don’t have TXT merch currently but I am getting their latest album minisode2: Thursday’s Child.
Chalotorn: TOO MANY! But I always get compliments with them and proudly advertise where it’s from! I love when they bring out bag merch because it’s something I know I can definitely use daily. It’s nice to know that their merch is cute, but also practical!
11. What would you say to TXT if you got to meet them?
Katrina: I would love to tell them how much they inspire me as a creative person. I always listen to their music or watch their videos while I draw. Their tenacity and passion for their craft inspire me to reach further for my dreams.
Jana: If I got to meet TXT, I would thank them for always working so hard. Seeing how passionate and driven the members are, it inspires me to push myself further with the fanbase and pursue my own dreams of working in the music industry. Supporting TXT reminds me of why I love music so much and I do what I do. I would also let them know that there are MOAs in Canada who always has their backs, waiting until the day we can meet together.
Maryam: I would love to tell them how much I love them. How they are the light to my life. They inspired me to be myself and to do the things I love to do. I hope the members continue to do what they love and I will always be there to support them.
Chalotorn: I would love to tell them how thankful I am that they chose the path that they did. I know that not only myself, but many other people have been so motivated and inspired by them. They are so loved and will continue to be loved, we really appreciate how mutual the support feels. As much as we are fans of theirs, they never fail to also treat us like a friend. With their work, it has personally motivated me to challenge myself to dream creatively with my career. I hope that one day as I grow as a graphic designer, I can work together with artists to enhance experiences beyond the music through artworks and products!

TXT Translations (@translatingTXT on Twitter) is run by just one person! They translate all and everything for TXT! Another account on twitter, @txt_sarangdan2 posts updates and uploads clips from everything TXT has appeared in. Other fan accounts we would like to shout out are the other country and streaming fanbases who support TXT worldwide.
