26 JUNE 2026 (TORONTO, ON) — Today, singer, songwriter and musician Cruz Beckham has announced his debut EP Wear & Tear, due for release on August 21st and available to pre-save HERE. Alongside the announcement, Cruz has released the title track of the EP, ‘Wear & Tear’ which is out now alongside the accompanying official video. Listen to ‘Wear & Tear’ HERE, and watch the official music video on Cruz’s YouTube at 12PM BST.
Recorded alongside his band The Breakers, the upcoming EP was produced in its entirety by Justin Raisen and Lewis Pesacov (Kim Gordon, Joji, Charli XCX). Featuring six all new tracks, it was crafted with live shows in mind, ahead of Cruz’ inaugural US tour this summer, and festival slots including Reading & Leeds, Rock N Roll Circus and Lollapalooza.
Newly released single ‘Wear & Tear’ sees Cruz capture the heart of what the EP, of the same name, is about. Opening with bright, resonant guitar strums, Cruz’s melodic vocals detail how experiencing life to its fullest and connecting with people is the most important thing you can do. Psychedelic-edged riffs build to an energetic chorus, perfectly formed to be sung with a crowd.
Speaking on the single and EP, Cruz says: “Wear & Tear is synonymous to a life lived and all your life experiences so far – the good and the bad, the learning curves, and everything in between. No matter how different every human experience is, we all have had at least a few similar emotions that make us all human. We’ve been high, and low, in love and in pain, jealous, upset – we’ve lived and learned. We’ve all got our wear and tear.”
The EP announcement and the release of the title track ‘Wear & Tear’ follows recent releases ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’ , a lighthearted live-show favourite, ‘Waste Your Pain’ alongside a coming-of-age classic Risky Business inspired music video, and ‘For Your Love’ , the song that acted as Cruz, Justin and Lewis’ eureka moment in the studio, acting as the sonic cornerstone that formed his musical identity. All following Cruz’s debut single ‘Optics’ released alongside ‘Lick The Toad’ earlier this year, marking the beginning of Cruz’s long-awaited musical journey.

Earlier this year Cruz completed his debut headline UK tour that saw him and his band The
Breakers play formative venues across the country before in three sold out nights at The Courtyard Theatre in London.
The London shows saw The London Standard praising Cruz as “impish, likeable, possessed of a clear talent” in their 4 Star review, CLASH saying “This is a band on the come up, leaning into the music first. No overproduction, no pretense, just a tight, energetic set with real moments of personality and potential”, and Metro adding “He might just be a rock star in the making. He can sing, he’s a great guitarist, and nothing about his new venture seems forced.” Elsewhere on the tour there was further praise from fans and critics alike, with The Guardian describing his performance as “[uncovering] psych-pop worthy of further investigation”, whilst The Times said
“His enthusiasm is infectious”, and The Telegraph praised their performance saying “The band, clearly having the time of their lives, are impressively tight, and Cruz’s guitar playing is more than a match for the more seasoned musicians”.
Kicking off next month, Cruz will be embarking on his debut US headline tour, alongside some major festival appearances including Reading & Leeds, Rock N Roll Circus, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and Shaky Knees.
