26 JUNE 2026 (TORONTO, ON) – British singer songwriter Sekou has shared his long awaited mixtape In A World We Don’t Belong Pt. 2. The mixtape presents Sekou at his most authentic and showcases his ability to intertwine nostalgic and familiar melodies with an energising, modern twist. In A World We Don’t Belong Pt. 2  includes lead track ‘Does She Know’, which arrives alongside its official video.

Across its five tracks, the release takes the listener on a journey of vulnerability and demonstrates Sekou’s growth as a musician. New additions ‘Does She Know’, ‘Needy’ and ‘Far From An Angel’ join the groovy previously released single ‘Dangerous Lover’, as well as a stunning cover of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Songbird’.

Today’s release joins its first installment, In A World We Don’t Belong Pt. 1, released in November, which is home to feisty bops ‘Catching Bodies’, ‘Never Gunna Give You Up’, gentle track ‘Love Language’ and more.

Speaking on the mixtape’s release, Sekou says “When I was making this project, I honestly just wanted to tell my story and express how I feel as a 21-year-old boy. Especially being Black, sometimes it feels like you have to work ten times harder. In A World We Don’t Belong just felt right to me because I’ve often felt like an outcast in my life, but there’s such a beauty in that. This music is a true reflection of figuring your life out and becoming who you want to be.

On lead single ‘Does She Know’, Sekou says “Sometimes in life you will meet people who will just feed you everything you want to hear and I think. When I make music, I really like to put my real feelings into a song and make something relatable and that’s what I feel I created for ‘Does She Know’. Sometimes in life you will meet people who will just feed you everything you want to hear and It’s about a situation where you’re oblivious to someone’s true colours, until one day you finally find out the real them. I feel like I’ve grown up so much and started to figure out a lot in the last year and this song showcases some of that vulnerability.”

In A World We Don’t Belong Pt. 2 arrives ahead of Sekou’s special headline London show, taking place 14th December at the iconic KOKO. Earlier this month Sekou took his electric live performance to Wembley Stadium for Capital’s Summertime Ball, earning praise from SZA and Kehlani. Following his sold out UK/EU headline tour that concluded last month, Sekou is currently on the tour’s sold out US leg before returning to Europe for festival season, including a slot at London’s All Points East.

So far in 2026, Sekou hasn’t stopped. At the start of the year, Sekou headed to San Francisco to open for Sam Smith at their To Be Free residency in February, performing an incredible duet of their hit ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’. He later made his BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge debut with performances of ‘Catching Bodies’ and a cover of previous collaborator Justin Bieber’s ‘Yukon’, after featuring on Bieber’s track ‘Too Long’ on 2025 album SWAG.

Having already taken the time to build the foundations for greatness, Sekou hit the Top 10 shortlist of BBC Radio 1’s Sound of 2024 poll, has completed standout performances on Later… with Jools Holland and 2025’s TIFF Tribute Awards, and also made history as the youngest ever BRIT nominee, with a Rising Star Award nomination. Clearly no stranger to connecting with his musical peers and inspirations, Sekou has collaborated with huge names in the game including Justin Bieber, Central Cee, Kevin Abstract, and earned praise last year from Elton John.
