SHARES LEAD SINGLE, “HELD BY EVENING,” AHEAD OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF HOPE – SUNDAY, JULY 12

Listen To “held by evening” and Pre-Order hush Here
10 JULY 2026 (TORONTO, ON) – Today the lauded pianist, composer, certified breathwork educator and wellness podcaster, Chad Lawson, announces his new album, hush, a calm, meditative yet powerful body of work spanning 10 tracks. Inspired by a moment of complete stillness following an orchestral recording session at London’s Angel Studios, the album is rooted in space, silence and the lingering emotional resonance that remains after the final note fades. hush will be released September 11 via Decca Records US and is available for pre-order now here.
“There’s a warmth a field keeps after the sun has gone,” Lawson says of the album. “You can lay your hand flat in the grass at dusk and feel the whole day still present. Or the press of a hand on your shoulder, still there a moment after the hand itself is gone. That’s the closest I can come to telling you what I wanted hush to feel like.”
To mark the second annual United Nations International Day of Hope, Lawson shares the lead single “held by evening,” offering listeners a first glimpse into the spacious, reflective world of hush. Check out “held by evening” here.
Built around sparse melodies and an intentional sense of restraint, hush reflects Lawson’s belief that music can be as powerful in what it leaves unsaid as in what it expresses. Rather than creating music that demands attention, Lawson set out to create a place listeners could return to at the end of a difficult day – a space that feels restorative, effortless and quietly hopeful.

Chad Lawson is uniquely positioned at the crossroads of music and wellness. For over a decade, Lawson has consistently combined creativity and science-backed research to support healing through the power of music, our universal language, utilizing strategic silence as a tool in music therapy to promote mental wellbeing.
As a musician, Lawson is a Billboard chart-topping, Steinway-endorsed, internationally acclaimed pianist and composer whose wellness-focused catalog spans sleep, focus and emotional recovery and has been streamed over 1.3 billion times (272.7M streams in 2025 alone), not only for its beauty, but because it is a guide toward resting and healing. NPR has called his music “an invitation to decompress,” while Variety christened Lawson one of the artists who “lead the wave of music for slumber and relaxation.” He currently has two albums charting on Billboard’s Classical Albums chart.
As a wellness educator, Lawson is the creator and host of the Calm It Down podcast (iHeart Radio Award-nominated; Webby Award honoree (Health, Wellness & Lifestyle)), exploring mental health, meditation and breathwork, soundtracked by Lawson’s music. With more than seven million downloads, the podcast is the platform for the institutional relationships that define a broader mission, the conversion engine turning playlist listeners into an engaged, loyal audience, and the connection between the music and messaging.
Former UN Ambassador for the World Federation for Mental Health, current UN Representative for the World Health Organization, Americas (2025–2027), and Yoga Alliance-certified breathwork educator, Lawson’s music has been released in alignment with World Mental Health Day, World Sleep Day, National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, as well as the inaugural International Day of Hope last year, validating his institutional credibility and placing him in a category of one among contemporary classical artists.
