THE SINGER-SONGWRITER SHARES NEW SINGLE
“NOT FOR A LACK OF TRYING” OUT NOW

“It’s just nice to hear music performed by a guy who knows a lot of chords but also knows how to use them in a tune”
– John Mayer on “Wonderful Thing”
“… the young crooner transports us to a bygone era where love is everywhere.”
–LA Times
Aron’s music blends warm melodies, lo-fi textures, and heartfelt storytelling into a style that’s both nostalgic and refreshingly modern.”
–TMRW Magazine
“The music is disarmingly sophisticated: understated, elegant, and evocative of another era. But it doesn’t feel retro. It feels remarkably assured—rooted in tradition, yet fully at ease in the present moment.”
–The Third Story w/ Leo Sidran
10 JULY 2026 (TORONTO, ON) — Today, the ever-charismatic singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist aron! announces his debut album Too Close For Running, due out September 18 on Verve Records. To celebrate the announcement, aron! shares his newest single, “Not For A Lack Of Trying,” a breezy, romantic indie-pop tune. It has aron!’s signature charm and an infectious melody. Listen to “Not For A Lack Of Trying” here, watch the official music video here, and pre-order Too Close For Running here.
Born and raised in Charlotte, NC, aron!’s mom and dad introduced him to rock icons like Pearl Jam and Led Zeppelin, and at eight-years-old he enrolled in guitar
lessons at a local music school. aron! studied classical composition at University of North Carolina School of the Arts, developing an appreciation for Chopin, Ravel, and Bach. During COVID, he dedicated himself to learning piano, waking up at 7:30am daily and exploring all that you can do with 88 keys. He earned a full scholarship to the University of Miami and majored in jazz voice and film scoring.
In 2023, he explored what he calls “a vintage pop sound,” and started building a strong following online.Labels started to call, and he signed to Verve Records to further develop his brand of cozy, jazz-leaning indie pop. In his words, “I’ve always resonated with the real old-school romantics. People are going through the same things now as they were back then. Heartbreak is heartbreak, and love is love. We’re all humans, and that’s what most of these songs are about.”
This year, aron!’s been teasing the album with a string of singles. He shared “Shiny Stockings,” a song about timeless love, with aron! singing, “Call my mother up to share the news/ I think you’re swell, I think you’re cute/ She said son when I was young like you/ We had those shiny stockings too.” Listen here and watch the official music video here. Prior to “Shiny Stockings,” aron! Shared “Macramé,” a collaboration with indie-pop and jazz artist Mei Semones, fuses indie rock sound with jazz-inflected guitar work to capture the spark and excitement of a new relationship. Another standout track from this year is “Wonderful Thing,” (listen here) an endearing, cozy-pop meditation on fearing love but falling anyway. The track earned praise from John Mayer, who spotlighted it on his SiriusXM channel Life with John Mayer, saying:
“[aron! is] really good at putting harmonic information in a tune that is both complex, which shines nicely on aron! and his talent, but also is right for the tune. It’s just nice to hear music performed by a guy who knows a lot of chords but also knows how to use them in a tune.”
aron!’s debut album Too Close For Running is out September 18, 2026, on Verve Records.
