27 JULY 2026 (TORONTO, ON) – Global recording artist KAROL G officially launched her “Viajando Por El Mundo TropiTour” this weekend with two consecutive nights at Soldier Field in Chicago, welcoming more than 90,000 fans throughout the opening weekend. Marking the debut of her largest live production to date, “Viajando Por El Mundo TropiTour” invites audiences into a bold new live experience inspired by the vibrant spirit of Tropicoqueta. More than a concert, opening weekend marked the beginning of a journey that invites audiences around the world to celebrate the music, rhythms and spirit that continue to connect generations across Latin culture.
From the opening moments, Soldier Field transformed into a world all its own. Across five acts, the production continuously evolved through immersive staging, live musicians, dynamic choreography and breathtaking visual moments, while pyrotechnics, fireworks and bursts of confetti amplified the energy throughout the night. Complementing the visual experience, KAROL G debuted a series of custom looks created in collaboration with Brett Alan Nelson, ETRO, Michael Schmidt Studios, The Blonds and SEKS, reflecting the bold, fashion-forward identity of the tour. Singer-songwriter Elena Rose opened both sold-out performances as the tour’s special guest, setting the stage for an unforgettable opening weekend. At the heart of the production, the now-signature pool served as one of the show’s defining visual elements, creating unforgettable moments as more than 90,000 fans sang, danced and celebrated together.
One of the evening’s most memorable moments came as Academy Award-nominated actor Edward James Olmos appeared on screen to introduce the Tropicoqueta act, setting the stage for mariachi-inspired performances of “Ese Hombre Es Malo,” “200 Copas” and “MAMIII,” creating one of the production’s defining moments. Throughout the night, KAROL G moved effortlessly between reggaetón anthems, intimate ballads and reimagined versions of fan favorites. Fresh cumbia and salsa arrangements of “BICHOTA” and “TUSA” offered new interpretations of two of her biggest hits while keeping the audience on its feet from beginning to end.
Opening night concluded with the debut of “MATADORA,” as KAROL G surprised fans with a special closing moment built around the new single, giving the Chicago audience its first introduction to the song before the show came to a close.
Following its sold-out opening weekend in Chicago, the tour continues across North America before traveling through Latin America and Europe, bringing KAROL G’s largest live production to audiences around the world. 200 Copas by Casa Dragones serves as an official sponsor of the tour, which is produced and promoted by Live Nation.
