Arriving as the latest preview of his forthcoming studio album, Hermoso, the track finds benny blanco at the intersection of cumbia and pop alongside two of pop’s biggest global superstars.
Crafted around a booming cumbia pulse, “Te Olvido (La La)” leans fully into the genre’s essence without sacrificing benny blanco’s instinct for indisputable pop melody. Selena Gomez and Becky G trade silky, slow-burning vocals that glide over the production with effortless chemistry, turning an ultimatum into something hypnotic. Beneath the chant-like “la la”sits an ultimatum disguised as a love song, delivered with the certainty of someone who’s already made up her mind: “dime si somos o no somos… así yo decido si te quiero o te olvido” (“tell me if we are or we aren’t… so I can decide if I love you or forget you”).
Directed by STILLZ and produced by Estevan Oriol, the accompanying video is rooted in Los Angeles’ Chicano culture, bringing the world of “Te Olvido (La La)” to life through lowriders, neighborhood street parties and unmistakable symbols of Mexican pride. Mexican-American Hollywood icon Danny Trejo makes a memorable appearance, nodding to his signature Machete character in a playful twist: trading action scenes for a street celebration where a piñata meets its match, alongside a cameo from legendary Mexican-American skateboarder Paul Rodriguez (“P-Rod”).
