31 JULY 2026 (TORONTO, ON) – Today, acclaimed singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding releases her brand-new single “4 Seasons”, taken from her highly anticipated sixth studio album, I Know Too Much, out 4 September via Polydor Records.
Following the caustic “Black Prada Dress”, “4 Seasons” finds Goulding revealing a gentler, more vulnerable side, its heart-swelling blend of acoustic guitar and soaring atmospherics detailing the first intoxicating steps of love.
Debuted on Later… With Jools Holland in June, and available to watch on YouTube today, “4 Seasons” was co-written and produced by Beyoncé collaborator and I Know Too Much’s executive producer, Jack Rochon, whom Goulding first reached out to on TikTok before the pair crafted I Know Too Much together over the past couple of years.
“The album came from the idea that maybe we can know too much. There is a certain kind of freedom in the ease of not knowing,” says Goulding of I Know Too Much. “This album is a collection of songs that represent a crossroads in my life where I realized what the freedom of not knowing has gifted me in the past, yet a time when I am at the precipice of understanding the true power in knowing. Through the chaos of this great change, I went to my comfort zone and found my refuge in the studio. My initial instinct was I didn’t know where it was all going, but I just knew I needed to be in the studio. Writing a song has always been my best form of therapy.”
A marker of the emotional honestly and forward-thinking artistry that runs throughout I Know Too Much, in “4 Seasons”’s blend of organic instrumentation and sparkling electronics, you can also hear a thread that runs throughout Goulding’s career, right back to the songs that started her on the path to becoming one of the most successful artists of the 21st century.
Over the past 17 years, Ellie Goulding has amassed over 55 billion streams globally and sold more than 44 million albums. Among the top five most-streamed British female artists in the world, alongside Adele, she holds theUK record for the most No.1 albums by a British female artist, as well as the record for the most UK Singles Chart entries for any British female solo artist in history.
Ellie’s work continues to reach and inspire new fans. Last month, she performed at half-time during England’s quarter-final game against Norway in the World Cup and lent her unmistakable vocals to Muse’s new single Hush, the thrilling highlight of the trio’s latest album The Wow! Signal, a record widely heralded as the band’s best work in decades.
Ellie Goulding remains one of the most viral artists in pop, repeatedly trending on social media worldwide, with her 2009 breakthrough “Starry Eyed” recently returning to the UK Official Charts after reaching #1 on TikTok earlier this year, further cementing her status as one of pop’s most enduring and influential voices.
