14 AUGUST 2026 (TORONTO, ON) – JUNO-nominated pop artist Sofia Camara shares her most devastating song to date with “Best Friend,” a powerful new single about the heartbreak that comes when love changes a friendship forever. Released via 21 Entertainment Group and Universal Music Canada, with international support from Mercury Records (US) and Polydor Records (UK, France), “Best Friend” follows its live debut at All Things Go earlier this summer, where it quickly became one of the most powerful moments of Sofia’s set.
On “Best Friend,” Camara explores a side of heartbreak that rarely gets talked about: the loss of the friendship that existed before love complicated everything. Co-written with singer-songwriter JP Saxe, alongside Ryan Marrone, Alex Sutton and TJ Whitelaw, and produced by longtime collaborator Mike Wise, the song wrestles with the impossible idea that sometimes loving someone means learning to let them go. Anchored by Sofia‘s soaring vocal performance and sweeping string arrangement from Will L’amoureux, “Best Friend” finds remarkable beauty in its restraint.
