02 OCTOBER 2026 (TORONTO, ON) — Leeds-based producer and composer Jessie Marcella returns with her brand new single “Aventurine”, out today via Mercury KX, featuring an additional production credit from Bicep. Following the release of her acclaimed 11:11 EP, the celestial “Aventurine” sees Jessie pushing her sound into more physical, high-impact territory, drawing inspiration from the mystery and transcendent power of the ocean.
Named after the crystal associated with luck, opportunity and new beginnings, “Aventurine” feels like a sonic talisman for stepping into the unknown. Soaring builds gather with the momentum of an approaching tide before breaking into huge, wall-of-sound drops, channelling the force of crashing waves and the exhilarating sensation of surrendering to something far bigger than yourself.
Jessie says about the track:
“Raw and euphoric, Aventurine is inspired by the immense power, unpredictability, and awe-inspiring scale of the ocean. Standing before something so vast triggers a profound shift in perspective, a freeing reminder of our own smallness that transforms existential awe into a surge of inspiration. Structurally, the track’s soaring builds and wall-of-sound drops channel the ocean’s unstoppable force, mirroring the rush of crashing waves and the feeling of surrendering to something bigger than yourself. Named after the crystal associated with luck and opportunity, Aventurine serves as a sonic catalyst for throwing yourself into the unknown…a track built on a simple truth: against the scale of the sea, nothing matters anyway. So give life everything you’ve got.”
The story behind “Aventurine” is equally significant. Jessie first began working on the track during a studio session with Bicep, following her win at the Youth Music Awards in 2022, where she received the Music Producer Award. Bicep are ambassadors for the awards, and the following year Jessie was invited to work with the duo in the studio as part of her prize. The session became the starting point for “Aventurine”, with Andy Ferguson and Matt McBriar now receiving an additional production credit on the finished track.
The release arrives ahead of ADE, with Jessie celebrating “Aventurine” with a launch party at Zwart Goud on 22nd October, where she will DJ alongside Tim Reaper. The acclaimed producer and DJ has also reimagined the track, bringing a high-octane club energy to Jessie’s oceanic original.
Since winning the Youth Music Producer Award in 2022, Jessie has continued to carve out a distinctive space within UK electronic music. Her work has been championed across BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Introducing, alongside Rinse FM and Reprezent Radio, with support from Danny Howard, Jaguar, Jamz Supernova, Sarah Story and Sian Eleri.
Blending electronic production with neo-classical composition, Jessie draws inspiration from artists including Björk, Jon Hopkins, Bicep and Bonobo, creating immersive music that moves between delicate textures and full-bodied electronic intensity. Her work is shaped by a fascination with atmosphere, emotion and nature.
Beyond the studio, Jessie has performed at Glastonbury, ADE and The Great Escape, alongside DJ sets for Apple Music, SiriusXM and BBC Radio 1. She has previously collaborated with Thrupence, Up North Session Orchestra, Josh Hooke, Jacana People and Bicep.
With “Aventurine”, Jessie Marcella continues to explore the liminal spaces between the physical and the otherworldly, drawing on her fascination with the mystery and wonder of the natural world. Expansive, instinctive and visceral, the track feels like a glimpse into where Jessie is heading next, with much more to be revealed in the months ahead.
