13 OCTOBER 2026 (TORONTO, ON) — Academy Award-winning composer Hildur Guðnadóttir continues the journey towards the release of her forthcoming Deutsche Grammophon album This Will Be Us with the latest track “In Gray (Version for Orchestra)”, which will be released on 9 October 2026. First released on Hildur Guðnadóttir’s 2006 debut album Mount A, which marks its 20th anniversary in 2026, “In Gray” has been newly reimagined for orchestra on This Will Be Us.
For the album, Guðnadóttir performs solo cello with conductor Robert Ames and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. The recording brings together orchestral versions of tracks from Mount A, Without Sinking and Saman, alongside two newly written pieces. Guðnadóttir also produced the album, which was recorded, mixed and mastered by her long-time collaborator Francesco Donadello.
The release arrives on the eve of another major moment for Guðnadóttir. On 10 October, she will be Guest of Honour at the 26th World Soundtrack Awards Ceremony & Concert, held at Muziekcentrum De Bijloke in Ghent as part of Film Fest Gent. In recognition of her innovative approach to screen music, the Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by Dirk Brossé, will perform a selection of Guðnadóttir’s work during the ceremony. She has previously been honoured by the World Soundtrack Academy as Television Composer of the Year (2019) and Film Composer of the Year (2020).
The film UNDER, featuring Hildur Guðnadóttir, is now available on ARTE.tv. It will premiere on STAGE+ on 24 October, continuing a month that brings Guðnadóttir’s work across music and film into focus.
