To celebrate the release, Flores will play a series of pop-up shows at Tulsa’s Guthrie Green (July 31, with special guest Lance Roark), Nashville’s Skinny Dennis (August 2), Denver’s Broken Bow Western Dancehall (August 5) and Chicago’s Carol’s Pub (August 6). Produced by Charlie Handsome (Post Malone, Morgan Wallen), Jacob “JKash” Hindlin (Dua Lipa) and Gian Stone, Scared of Heights marks a new chapter for Flores, pairing early 2000s pop and rock with the vulnerable songwriting that has established him as “one of the genre’s most conspicuous new voices” (Billboard). Throughout the record, Flores offers an unfiltered look at his life over the past few years, reflecting on what it means to face darkness head-on in order to find moments of peace.

“I finally feel like I know who I’m supposed to be, right here in this moment,” Flores shares. “I’m not second-guessing myself anymore on what the music’s supposed to be, what I’m supposed to be chasing, or who I’ve become. This is who I am now in 2026. Still figuring out my struggles and mental health but finally getting the confidence to step back into this and to believe in myself again.”
Prior to the release, Flores joined forces with Carter Faith for “Nothin’ Better To Do,” which led All Country News to declare, “the collaboration further cements his place among country music’s most exciting young voices,” as well as Charles Wesley Godwin on “Hey There Son” and Diplo for “Saving This Bottle.”
Flores will continue to tour through the fall with his extensive “Drive All Night Tour,” which includes stops at Nashville’s The Truth, Albany’s Empire Live and Pittsburgh’s Citizen Live at The Wylie, among others. Scared of Heights follows Flores’ first live album, Live At Cain’s Ballroom, as well as his acclaimed 2024 full-length debut album, Welcome to the Plains (stream/purchase here). The album was released to overwhelming attention and led Flores to be featured on NPR Music’s “Tiny Desk Concert” series, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, CBS Saturday Mornings’ “Saturday Sessions” and NPR’s “All Things Considered.”
Born and raised in Oklahoma, the Mexican-American artist has established himself as one of country music’s most vital voices. Most recently, Flores received the Rising Star Award from the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in front of a sold-out crowd at Stillwater’s Boone Pickens Stadium, joining artists such as The All-American Rejects, Kings of Leon, Carrie Underwood and Blake Shelton. He’s also been recognized as one of Rolling Stone’s 25 “Future of Music” artists, was awarded the PLUS1 Rising Star Award, received a nomination for Emerging Act of the Year at the 2024 Americana Honors & Awards, was selected as Amazon’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year, included in Spotify’s Hot Country Class of 2024 and CMT’s Listen Up class, and made his Grand Ole Opry debut. Additionally, Flores has garnered over 1.4 billion streams to date, saw his breakout single, “Please Don’t Go,” scale the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart and had his song, “Before I Do,” with Jake Kohn featured on the soundtrack for the Twisters movie.
