07 AUGUST 2026 (TORONTO, ON) — Bruce Liu’s new album Lunaris is out now on Deutsche Grammophon. Winner of the 2021 International Chopin Piano Competition, the Chinese-Canadian pianist has earned critical acclaim through performances at leading international venues and recordings for the Yellow Label since signing with Deutsche Grammophon in 2022. His latest album presents a programme shaped by night, moonlight and the shifting perception of time after dark.
The sequence opens with Chopin’s Nocturne in D flat major, Op. 27 No. 2 and closes with John Cage’s Dream. Its central works include Beethoven’s “Moonlight” and “Waldstein” Sonatas and Scriabin’s Piano Sonata No. 4, alongside music by Debussy, Ligeti, Federico Mompou and Agnes Obel. Together, the works trace a progression from inward reflection towards brightness and transcendence.
