21 AUGUST 2026 (TORONTO, ON) – Today, singer, songwriter and musician Cruz Beckham releases his highly-anticipated debut EP, Wear & Tear. Listen to the EP HERE.
Comprised of six tracks hand selected by Cruz specifically from the feedback and discussions from fans on his recent tours, making the tracklisting as much Cruz’s decision as it was the fans’, it was recorded alongside his band The Breakers and produced by Justin Raisen and Lewis Pesacov (Kim Gordon, Joji, Charli XCX).
Continuing to reveal the visual identity of the EP, today Cruz has also released the music videos for the remaining tracks on the EP, with stellar visuals now accompanying all six tracks. The final videos were filmed across two days where Cruz and The Breakers hunkered down in a London studio with close collaborators and brought their creative visions and encapsulations of each track to life. The release of Wear & Tear follows the culmination of Cruz’s debut headline US tour last week, and their headline UK tour earlier this year, and comes ahead of four huge UK festival performances over the coming weeks alongside The Breakers at Rock’N’Roll Circus in both Norwich and Sheffield, and Reading & Leeds.
Speaking on the EP, Cruz says: “This EP is a tribute to the live shows that kickstarted my career. Everyone who’s come to the show, who I met, I’ve listened to the songs they wanted out and here they are. I can’t wait for these to be in the world. It’s the beginning of a beautiful journey we get to take together.”
The EP features the title track ‘Wear & Tear’ which was the first to be released and saw Cruz capture the heart of what the EP is about. Opening with bright, resonant guitar strums, Cruz’s melodic vocals detail how experiencing life to its fullest and connecting with people is the most important thing you can do. ‘Seeing Red’ was the next offering to be released, delivering big riffs, big vocals, and big energy. Cruz and The Breakers perform with fervour, as lyrics embody the EPs ethos of showcasing your true self, and leaving it all out there, whether on the stage or in the crowd.
The EP also features four previously unreleased tracks. ‘Dumb Down’ is a high-octane opener to the EP, setting the tone for what’s to come with thrashing guitar strums while lyrically narrating and rejecting the notion of artists feeling pressure to dilute themselves to be successful. Beginning with a groove-filled percussion and bassline section, ‘Better Times’ highlights the musicality of the project, with the band’s dynamic instrumentation complimenting Cruz’ lyrics. ‘Loneliest Boy’ is a stripped-back, live show favourite, with Cruz having performed it acoustically on tour, captivating each room with soft guitar plucks and gentle vocals. Before culminating in‘WANNABE’, a song full of tough-in-cheek references, clever lyricism and huge listenability.
The release of the EP follows previous single releases including ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’, a lighthearted live-show favourite, ‘Waste Your Pain’ alongside a coming-of-age classic Risky Business inspired music video, and ‘For Your Love’, the song that acted as Cruz, Justin and Lewis’ eureka moment in the studio, acting as the sonic cornerstone that formed his musical identity. All following Cruz’s debut single ‘Optics’ released alongside ‘Lick The Toad’ earlier this year, marking the beginning of Cruz’s long-awaited musical journey.

Earlier this year Cruz completed his debut headline UK tour that saw him and his band The Breakers play formative venues across the country before in three sold out nights at The Courtyard Theatre in London.
The London shows saw The London Standard praising Cruz as “impish, likeable, possessed of a clear talent” in their 4 Star review, CLASH saying “This is a band on the come up, leaning into the music first. No overproduction, no pretense, just a tight, energetic set with real moments of personality and potential”, and Metro adding “He might just be a rock star in the making. He can sing, he’s a great guitarist, and nothing about his new venture seems forced.” Elsewhere on the tour there was further praise from fans and critics alike, with The Guardian describing his performance as “[uncovering] psych-pop worthy of further investigation”, whilst The Times said”His enthusiasm is infectious”, and The Telegraph praised their performance saying“The band, clearly having the time of their lives, are impressively tight, and Cruz’s guitar playing is more than a match for the more seasoned musicians”.
