04 SEPTEMBER 2026 (TORONTO, ON) — Today, rising folk and blues prodigy Muireann Bradley shares her latest original track, ‘Dancing On My Grave’ – listen here. Heavily inspired by the murder ballads of the 1920s and 30s, the track pairs Muireann’s intricate fingerpicking with a haunting vocal and an unmistakable bluesy groove.
Blending open-to-interpretation storytelling with personal experience, Muireann says: “‘Dancing On My Grave’ was really fun to record. It grew from a guitar part I’d come up with before going into the studio. Finishing the song was a real collaboration with producer Declan Gaffney and Ella Walker, and the lyrics were inspired by the story of the death of Delta blues legend Robert Johnson in Mississippi in 1938.”
‘Dancing On My Grave’ is the latest offering from Muireann’s upcoming Blackwood Pew EP, due 23rd October via Fontana Records/Verve Forecast. Previously released tracks include her gorgeous take on Daniel Johnston’s seminal ‘True Love Will Find You In The End’ and her original single ‘Not Going Back’. Today Muireann also announces a run of dates in UK record shops to celebrate the physical release of the Rose Dogs & Blackwood Pew EP, which pairs the new collection with all five tracks from Muireann’s acclaimed 2025 EP, Rose Dogs. While her acclaimed debut album I Kept These Old Blues introduced Muireann as a remarkable interpreter of the songs that shaped her, Blackwood Pew marks a new chapter: the arrival of Muireann Bradley as a songwriter in her own right. Across the EP, her original material sits alongside the country blues and folk traditions that first inspired her, revealing an artist whose songwriting feels just as timeless, emotionally resonant and deeply considered.
The EP takes its name from the guitar at the heart of every recording. Handcrafted from Australian Blackwood reclaimed from a 200-year-old church pew in Tasmania, it was gifted to Muireann by a fan who, having seen her perform, was inspired to build her a custom instrument. Released alongside Blackwood Pew is the physical double EP Rose Dogs & Blackwood Pew, pairing the new collection with all five tracks from her acclaimed 2025 EP, Rose Dogs. Preorder here.
At just 19, Muireann has earned international acclaim for transforming intricate fingerstyle playing into performances of remarkable warmth, clarity and emotional depth. Her astonishing ability to inhabit songs written decades before she was born led to acclaimed appearances on Jools Holland’s Hootenanny and The Late Late Show, while I Kept These Old Blues became an instant collector’s item, selling out its first pressing.
Her live reputation has only continued to grow. Muireann has sold out headline shows on both sides of the Atlantic and, last month, was handpicked by Fontaines D.C.’s Tom Coll and folk collective Broadside Hacks to top the sold-out bill at Féile Moth, an Irish cultural festival at MOTH Club in London. She has also supported Brooke Combe at KOKO, joined Jeff Goldblum on select live dates, and performed as part of the star-studded Harvest Moon Gathering in California alongside Neil Young, Lana Del Rey and Beck.
With Blackwood Pew, Muireann’s story shifts. These songs no longer simply inhabit the perspectives of the artists who inspired her, but reveal something rarer – a singular songwriter beginning to build a body of work that can stand alongside them.
