STAGE+ EXPANDS ITS JAZZ OFFERING WITH BLUE NOTE RECORDS, IMPULSE! AND VERVE RECORDS CATALOGUES

AHEAD OF JOHN COLTRANE’S 100TH BIRTHDAY, LANDMARK JAZZ CATALOGUES JOIN STAGE+, BRINGING ESSENTIAL RECORDINGS BY JOHN COLTRANE, ELLA FITZGERALD, LEE MORGAN, NINA SIMONE, OSCAR PETERSON AND MANY MORE TO THE PLATFORM

21 SEPTEMBER 2026 (TORONTO, ON) — STAGE+ is expanding its jazz offering with the addition of the catalogues of legendary labels Blue Note Records, Impulse! and Verve Records — all part of Universal Music Group, the world leader in music-based entertainment. Few labels have shaped the sound and history of jazz quite like these iconic names. Their recordings now join the complete ECM jazz catalogue on STAGE+, featuring giants such as Keith Jarrett and Chick Corea, as well as the extensive Loft Music video catalogue, featuring over 100 jazz concerts from the Münchner Klaviersommer with Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and Friedrich Gulda, to name but a few.

The launch comes as the 100th birthday of John Coltrane approaches. One of the most influential and visionary figures in jazz, Coltrane left an extraordinary artistic legacy that continues to inspire musicians and listeners around the world. To mark his centenary, STAGE+ invites audiences to rediscover his artistry and explore his recordings as part of its growing jazz offering.

Subscribers can discover music by Ella Fitzgerald, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Nina Simone and Oscar Peterson alongside contemporary artists including Gregory Porter, Diana Krall, Jon Batiste, Samara Joy and many more. Together, the catalogues offer a wide-ranging journey through jazz history, connecting landmark recordings with some of the most compelling artists working today.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Blue Note, Impulse! and Verve catalogues to STAGE+. Together with ECM and our growing collection of jazz performances, these iconic recordings make STAGE+ an even richer destination for jazz. We are especially delighted to deepen our collaboration across Universal Music Group and bring this extraordinary musical heritage to our subscribers,” says Sven Fund, General Manager of STAGE+.

Albums are available to stream in lossless audio quality. Specially curated playlists offer additional ways to explore the catalogues, connecting artists, eras and styles and helping listeners discover both celebrated recordings and new favourites.

Beyond audio, STAGE+ brings audiences closer to the artists and their music through long-form concert videos, interviews and music videos. The combination of premium audio and video gives jazz fans the opportunity to move seamlessly from listening to an album to experiencing artists in performance and exploring the stories behind the music.

With Verve, Impulse! and Blue Note joining STAGE+, subscribers can now explore an increasingly wide-ranging selection of jazz in one destination, alongside an already extensive library of classical music.
