25 September 2026 (Toronto, ON) – Today, critically acclaimed jazz-pop singer, songwriter and pianist Elysia Biro releases her debut holiday EP, It’s Always Christmas With You, via Universal Music Canada and Deutsche Grammophon. The four-track collection brings Biro’s timeless musicianship and unmistakable vocal timbre to a set of songs made for the quieter pleasures of the season: low lit evenings around the table, memories made with loved ones, and the feeling of home settling in around you.
At the heart of the EP is “It’s Always Christmas With You”, an original song written by Biro that shares the warmth and enduring quality of the EP’s three beloved holiday classics: “The Christmas Song (Cheery & Bright)”,“I’ll Be Home For Christmas”, and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”. Across the collection, Biro’s soulful voice, rich in depth and character, is in close conversation with her piano, giving each familiar melody room to breathe. The result is an elegant, timeless soundtrack for the closeness of the holiday season.
On the sentiment of “It’s Always Christmas With You”, Biro shares: “I’ve always treasured the holiday season for the coziness, festivities, and most of all, the family gatherings at our house. With several family members working in health care, we sometimes couldn’t spend the 25th together and would celebrate on another day. As an artist, I’m sometimes unsure where I will be during the holidays, meaning a similar question mark around the location (despite always hoping I can be home!). I wanted to write a song that captures the idea that no matter where you are or when you celebrate, it always feels like Christmas when you’re with someone you love.”
A classically trained pianist with deep roots in jazz, Biro brings an instrumentalist’s sensitivity to every performance. There is a lived-in quality to her singing that makes her especially suited to this repertoire. Her voice can be feather-soft yet remarkably rich even in its most understated moments. Drawing from an inspiration lineage that includes Ella Fitzgerald and Norah Jones while sharing the contemporary jazz-pop sensibility of artists like Laufey, Elysia Biro makes music that feels elevated and inviting.
It’s Always Christmas With You arrives during a breakout year for the 26-year-old jazz-pop artist. Following the release of her critically acclaimed debut EP Running From Nothing, Biro quickly surpassed 7.4 million global streams and has earned recognition from publications such as The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard Canada, CBC’s Q with Tom Power, Wonderland Magazine, CBC’s Commotion, Schön! Magazine, among others. About Elysia Biro:
At just 26 years old, Elysia Biro (pronounced Eh-lee-sha Bee-row) is a compelling virtuoso whose swift rise and critical acclaim has landed her at the forefront of artists emerging in the jazz-pop space. Raised in the wilds of Vancouver Island and classically trained in piano since age 4, Biro is a technically gifted singer, songwriter, and pianist. At 13, inspired by the genre’s improvisational free form, she taught herself how to play jazz by ear and began writing her own music. After graduating high school at 16, Biro earned her Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies for piano and voice before moving to England to complete her Master’s of Music degree at the University of York.
Citing jazz and folk luminaries such as Oscar Peterson, Ella Fitzgerald, Norah Jones, and Joni Mitchell among her greatest influences, Biro honours both tradition and the possibilities that unfurl when exploring new forms. She’s crafted her signature sound by building each song around the core of a jazz trio or solo piano, blending modern pop form and classical technique with jazz sensibilities. Much like her contemporaries Laufey and Olivia Dean, Biro’s music is resonating with younger audiences yearning for expressive artistry in the form of jazz-and-classical-inspired pop music. Now based in Los Angeles where she writes, records, and produces, Elysia Biro continues to combine worlds, creating sonic sanctuaries defined by her skilled musicianship and emotional depth.
