25 SEPTEMBER 2026 (TORONTO, ON) — With “The Better Life,” Giant Rooks are releasing a song about the search for a supposedly better life and the associated pressure to constantly improve oneself. The song explores the idea that happiness, freedom, and recognition are attainable if you just work hard enough on yourself and shows how this pursuit can lead to the pressure of never being good enough.
Behind the promise of a “Better Life,” the song explores self-doubt, the pursuit of unattainable ideals, and the fear of losing oneself along the way. The song asks what remains of the idea of a perfect life when the constant search for the best version of oneself ultimately leads to unhappiness above all else.
Following ROOKERY and How Have You Been?, Giant Rooks will release their third studio album, If Heaven Exists, This Might Be It, on October 16. Its twelve songs revolve around the longing for connection in a deeply manipulative world strained by alienation and inner conflict. Amid transience, memory, and confusion, the band turns its attention to the havens of love and friendship that deserve to be cherished. Through their signature indie-pop sound – long established on the international stage – Giant Rooks explore and celebrate the heavenly within the earthly.

In 2025 Giant Rooks played two completely sold-out shows in their hometown Hamm, Germany, which became an emotional homecoming but also marked a new milestone for the band’s success. Earlier in 2024, they completed their third sold-out North American headline tour, returned as special guest for Louis Tomlinson, and performed major international festival sets including Lollapalooza Chicago, Reading & Leeds, and Corona Capital in Mexico City.
