08 OCTOBER 2026 (TORONTO, ON) — Norah Jones and Chris Stapleton have paired up to release “April’s Gone,” a heartfelt new Christmas song featuring two of the most distinctive voices in American music. Written by Jones and producer Leon Michels, the poignant song tells the story of a fading love in need of a Christmas spark.
“After Leon and I wrote ‘April’s Gone,’ I couldn’t stop hearing Chris’ voice in my head singing it,” says Norah. “I’ve always loved him and wanted to sing with him. Mickey Raphael connected us, and next thing I knew a recording of Chris singing the song was in my inbox, I was so happy! His voice is just incredible.”
Jones first worked with Michels on I Dream Of Christmas, her 2021 holiday album which has since become a perennial favorite. Michels also produced Jones’ most recent studio album Visions, which was released in 2024 and earned Jones her 10th GRAMMY Award.

Jones has also announced the Nov. 27 release of Playing Along, Volume 2, a Black Friday Record Store Day exclusive LP featuring songs from her podcast Norah Jones Is Playing Along, which finds Norah sitting down with her favorite musicians for candid conversation and impromptu musical collaborations. Available exclusively at indie record stores on red vinyl, Playing Along, Volume 2 presents a selection of songs from the 2nd season of her podcast with a diverse range of artists including Lucinda Williams, Jason Isbell, Joshua Homme, Lucius, Meshell Ndegeocello, Ron Carter, Bill Frisell, Josh Groban, and more.
