BAND MAKES FIFTH APPEARANCE ON SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE OCTOBER 04

ANNOUNCE WORLD TOUR TO BEGIN FEBRUARY 2015

11 SEPTEMBER 2014 (Toronto, ON) – Maroon 5 have this week debuted at #1 on the Canadian Nielsen Soundscan album chart with their fifth studio album, V, released September 02 via Interscope/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. In addition, Maroon 5 also confirm that they will return for their fifth appearance as musical guest on Saturday Night Live October 04, with Sarah Silverman taking the stage as host. The multi-platinum, three-time GRAMMY-Award winners recorded V in Los Angeles with producers Max Martin, Benny Blanco, Ryan Tedder, Shellback and Sam Martin. Bringing it all back home, V features the return of M5’s original keyboardist Jesse Carmichael to the fold, rejoining frontman Adam Levine, guitarist James Valentine, bassist Mickey Madden, drummer/percussionist Matt Flynn, and keyboardist PJ Morton after a two-year hiatus. Maroon 5’s latest provides a sonic summation of the group’s journey to date – capturing the essence of the earliest M5 hits through to their most recent successes, as well as providing a picture of its artistic growth into the future. From being crowned ‘Best New Artist’ at the GRAMMY Awards of 2005 and going on to sell more than 17 million albums worldwide (over 900,000 in Canada), Maroon 5’s releases have gone gold and platinum in over 35 countries. The band has won over fans and critics alike with the hybrid rock/R&B sound they introduced on their debut album, Songs About Jane. It Won't be Soon Before Long followed, including hits  Makes Me Wonder and If I Never See your Face Again. In 2010, the band released their third studio album, Hands All Over, which featured hit singles Misery and the anthemic Moves Like Jagger, which has gone on to become one of the best-selling singles of all time, including 775,000 copies in Canada. 2012’s Overexposed reinforced the group’s status as a powerhouse in popular music with singles Payphone, Daylight, Love Somebody, and One More Night all rising to the top of the charts while Maroon 5 wrapped one of the highest grossing tours of 2013 with over 50 million dollars in ticket sales. Maroon 5 have also announced a 37-city world arena tour to begin  in February of 2015, with Canadian stops in Toronto, Saskatoon, Edmonton, and Vancouver in March.
