OCTOBER 6 TORONTO SHOW MOVED TO LARGER VENUE DUE TO HIGH DEMAND

 

(Toronto, ON. – 19 August 2013) – With a meteoric rise that has seen her firmly established as one of 2013's most original and talked-about new artists, Lorde has announced details of Pure Heroine, her feverishly awaited debut album, released October 01 via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company.

Ahead of the album, Lorde released her breakthrough single, “Royals” which saw the fastest ever debut to #1 at ALT radio for a new artist, and is now enjoying its fourth consecutive week at #1. Watch the video for “RoyalsHERE. Internationally acclaimed R&B sensation, The Weeknd just released a remixed version of the song over the weekend. Alongside “Royals”, Pure Heroine will feature fan favourite, Tennis Courtand eight brand new tracks.

The last few months have seen a head-spinning list of accomplishments for the 16-year-old New Zealander, real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor, born and raised on Auckland's North Shore. A viral groundswell has put her debut EP, The Love Club and its lead single, “Royals” firmly in the iTunes Top 10 for weeks.

Lorde will be heading to Canada for the first time on October 06 with a show at Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall. Originally slated to play The Hoxton, the show sold out in minutes and was moved to the larger capacity venue due to demand from Toronto fans.
