EDM PRODUCER FELIX CARTAL RELEASES “SOMETHING TO LIVE FOR” FEATURING NIKKI YANOFSKY

Felix Cartal

FELIX’S FORTHCOMING ALBUM, LIFE ONLINE, COMING SOON

NORTH AMERICAN CLUB TOUR KICKED OFF IN FELIX’S HOMETOWN OF VANCOUVER ON FRIDAY

17 AUGUST 2015 (Toronto, ON) – Vancouver producer Felix Cartal has released his first official single, “Something To Live For”, with Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Known for his uniquely memorable melodies and beautiful vocals, the track holds true to Felix’s style and elegantly proclaims the need for all individuals to find their own meaning in life. “Something To Live For” features Montreal’s multiplatinum-selling vocalist, Nikki Yanofsky and will be included on Felix’s forthcoming album, LIFE ONLINE. “Something To Live For” on iTunes “Something To Live For” on Spotify “Something To Live For” was born from recent reflections on how much growing up online has affected this generation – in both good and bad ways. “I’m not upset about what’s happening online, but there is definitely something weird about the façade we all maintain in our online lives versus our real lives”, Felix says. “There has to be something deep inside everyone that is unique to them, which truly fuels what they are living for. I don’t think many people share this thing online.” The official video for “Something To Live For” will premiere later this month. Felix’s recent hit, “With You” featuring Natalie Angiuli premiered on Complex Canada last month here. Felix emerged into the electronic music scene in 2009 with SKELETON, a 4-track EP of hard-hitting beats and sweltering synths. Since then, a strong work ethic and relentless tour schedule has termed Felix as one of Canada’s finest electronic music artists. First noticed by MSTRKRFT and Steve Aoki for his “big room” party songs, his tracks quickly gained popularity and have been used in sets by Hardwell, Diplo, Laidback Luke and more. Felix has performed on the stages of EDC, Electric Zoo, Tomorrowland, Squamish, and Paradiso, as well as clubs around the world. Felix’s music has evolved over the years and now reflects a more mature and unique sound that can be heard on singles like “Tonight” and “Don’t Turn on the Lights”, which was nominated for ‘Best Dance Recording’ at the 2013 JUNO Awards. Recent hits “Young Love” and “Ready for Love” continue the string of dance-oriented, intricately produced, pop releases. 2015 continues the evolution of the Felix Cartal story. LIFE ONLINE is a soundtrack to a new generation, one where we are all connected digitally, where a wealth of static relationships exist, and it seems easier to live online than to live. Felix also began his S2L4 North American tour in Vancouver on Friday, and will continue on to visit other cities around the continent including Canadian stops in Montreal and Hamilton later this month.
