SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM OUT NOW

04 MARCH 2016 (Toronto, ON) ColleGrove, the mammoth collaboration of superstars 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne, has released their debut, self-titled album today on Def Jam Recordings / Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. ColleGrove is available with all digital and streaming partners now and will be available for physical purchase on March 25. For weeks, Atlanta’s multi-platinum and Grammy®-nominated, 2 Chainz, and New Orleans’ multi-platinum, 4-time Grammy®-winner Lil Wayne have been using social media to tease their fans about ColleGrove. Buzz heated up when Felt Like Cappin, Chainz’s most recent mixtape (released in January), included the track “Back On the Bullshyt” featuring Lil Wayne and in February when ColleGrove took the stage at NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon for their debut performance of the track “Rolls Royce Weather Every Day.” This past Wednesday, Kanye West revealed the album art shot by Jonathan Mannion on Twitter along with the March 4 release date. Fans have been eagerly waiting for collaborative album like this to happen from the hip hop juggernauts since 2007, when Lil Wayne showed up as a feature on the street classic “Duffle Bag Boy” by Playaz Circle (Chainz’ original group). The single hit #2 on the Billboard Rap chart, Top 5 R&B, and Top 15 on the Hot 100 in the US. Other collaborations over the years between 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne include the RIAA certified platinum tracks “Rich As Fuck” and Juicy J’s strip club anthem “Bandz a Make Her Dance.” Tonight, ColleGrove will debut their music video for “Bounce” off the album at 7:55 p.m. EST on MTV (US). The video will simultaneously premiere on MTV.com and VEVO. Last night, ColleGrove took over Beats 1 radio for a special show highlighting 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne’s relationship over the years. Music’s RIAA triple-platinum #1 R&B/#1 Rap hit (from Cruel Summer). Four months later, Chainz arrived as a Def Jam solo artist with Based On A T.R.U. Story, his debut album of August 2012.  B.O.A.T.S. entered Soundscan at #1 and was certified RIAA gold. Its success was fueled by the RIAA platinum “No Lie” featuring Drake, the double-platinum “Birthday Song” featuring Kanye West, and double-platinum “I’m Different.” “Mercy” was subsequently a Grammy® nominee for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance, while B.O.A.T.S. was nominated for Best Rap Album. B.O.A.T.S. II: ME TIME (September 2013) extended Chainz’ dominance, entering the Soundscan hip-hop chart at #1, and spinning off the RIAA gold single, “Feds Watching” featuring Pharrell.  In addition to his deep catalog of mixtapes starting in 2007 (including the 3-part Trap-A-Velli series), 2 Chainz is also one of the most in-demand collaborators, with some 70 featured appearances on singles since 2011, including iconic top-charted smashes like A$AP Rocky’s double-platinum “Fuckin’ Problems,” and Jason Derulo’s 4x-platinum “Talk Dirty.” 2 Chainz has also reached new audiences as a host for two seasons of the GQ web series Most Expensivest Sh*t. About Lil Wayne: Having sold millions of albums worldwide and garnered four Grammy® awards, Lil Wayne is one of the most successful and critically lauded artists in hip-hop.  He released his first project at age 12. and went on to release his first solo album in 1999, at just 17.  He released the first installment of his legendary Tha Carter series in 2004, followed by three others, including the landmark Tha Carter III in 2008.  Lil Wayne also holds the record for the most entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart by a male solo artist with 109 entries, having surpassed the record previously set by Elvis Presley.  His 2013 studio album, I Am Not A Human Being II, debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart.  He released FWA (Free Weezy Album) on July 4, 2015, exclusively on Tidal, where it was streamed over a staggering ten million times within the first week alone.  Outside of his iconic music career, Lil Wayne has continued on as the CEO of his own Young Money Records, as well as successful apparel brand Trukfit.  His new album, Tha Carter V arrives in 2016.
