BOBBY BAZINI REVEALS C’EST LA VIE, LEAD SINGLE FROM FORTHCOMING ALBUM

Bazini Cest la Vie

Song Available at All Digital Retailers and Streaming Services This Friday, Performed Live at Global Citizen Concert Saturday

14 SEPTEMBER 2016 (Toronto, ON) – Multiplatinum, soul-infused, singer-songwriter Bobby Bazini today reveals that his new single, C’est la Vie, will be available this Friday at radio, digital retailers, and streaming services. C’est la Vie heralds his forthcoming studio album due this fall via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company, and follow-up to his 2014’s smash Where I Belong, which was the biggest-selling Canadian album of that year and also earned Bazini his fourth JUNO nomination, for Album of the Year. C’est la Vie began life with encouragement from producer Martin Terefe (Shawn Mendes, Mike Posner, MIKA) suggesting Bazini attempt growing something unexpected from the seed of this well-worn sentiment. Bazini, always willing to experiment, was enthusiastic to challenge himself with writing a poignant lyric while avoiding the pitfalls of syrupy sentimentality sometimes associated with the phrase. “The meaning is important in this song,” says Bazini. “It’s about being in love but also being ‘at love’ – not a fiery phase of early passion in a relationship but a gentle bond which gives fortitude. Love will set you free, it’s true.” On this forthcoming album, Bazini has also, for the first time, co-written with other songwriters in Los Angeles, Nashville, and London. “I’m an admirer of co-written songs. Writing with new people takes your songs to places you might not have gone alone,” admits Bazini. “You break barriers within yourself, you learn a lot in the process, and you even find out about yourself when you collaborate. I can say I found more of my own voice in working with others.” Bazini says the forthcoming album will be familiar to his fans but also offers the unexpected, with new tempos and sonic elements not in his previous albums, while still maintaining harmony with his approach of an organic, real-musicians-in-the-studio foundation. “It’s a blend of the old and new,” states Bazini. “My last album was rooted in the traditional. This one begins with those same ingredients but is also modernized for a more contemporary feel.” Details of the new album will be revealed by Bazini in the imminently, along with pre-sale information and touring plans in support of the release. Bazini’s just announced a close-to-home Montréal concert for February 24, 2017, with more touring information available through his website. This Saturday, September 17, Bazini will perform C’est la Vie in Montréal at the Global Citizen event, a concert to end AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria – being held at Bell Centre and including performances from Usher & The Roots, Half Moon Run, Grimes, Metric, and Charlotte Cardin.
