North American Tour Supporting Death From Above Kicks Off Next Week in Ottawa

13 October 2017 (Toronto, ON)Late Show, the debut studio album from Toronto rock band The Beaches, is out today on Universal Music Canada. In celebration of the album, The Beaches shared the video for their foot-stomping, heavy beat banger “Gold” earlier this week. The video showcases the band trying their hand at witchcraft, creating the perfect male companion. This is the third video from Late Show since unleashing their first and current single “Money”, which is now Top 5 at Alternative radio in Canada and showing no signs of slowing down. Watch the video for “Gold” on VEVO, along with the previously released “Late Show” and “Money”.

Less than a week after releasing Late Show, The Beaches will embark on a North American tour supporting Death From Above. The Beaches were personally selected by Death From Above to accompany them on their tour, which kicks off in Ottawa on October 19, hits New York on October 25, rolls through Los Angeles on November 15 and concludes with two dates in Toronto December 1 and 2. For a full list of tour dates and ticket information, visit: TheBeachesBand.com.

Recorded in the band’s home city of Toronto in the spring of this year, Late Show features 12 tracks, all exuding catchy-as-hell guitar riffs alongside honest and poignant lyrics. The Beaches’ influences are wide-spanning, including David Bowie, The Strokes, The Rolling Stones, St. Vincent and The Pretenders, which all in one way or another shaped this record.

Late Show was produced by Emily Haines and Jimmy Shaw of five-time Juno Award-winners Metric, and was mixed by multi-Grammy Award-winner Tchad Blake (Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys, U2).

Comprised of sisters Jordan and Kylie Miller (on lead vocals/bass and guitar/backing vocals, respectively), Eliza Enman-McDaniel on drums, and Leandra Earl on keyboards, guitar and backing vocals, The Beaches have a natural chemistry that shines through in their music and live performance. Playing as a band since before their teens, The Beaches have had time to fine-tune their craft, a reason why their live shows have not gone unnoticed. Earlier this year, The Beaches also performed in front of a sold-out crowd during CMW at Toronto’s infamous Horseshoe Tavern, a show that was listed repeatedly as a “must-see” during the festival.

With two self-released EPs under their belt and Late Show out now, The Beaches have already toured the UK, performed at Canadian festivals including Festival d'été de Québec, Osheaga and WayHome, and opened for such acts as Eagles of Death Metal, Alvvays and several other acclaimed artists. Most recently, The Beaches were nominated for a 2017 CASBY Award for Favourite New Artist.
