PREMIERED OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR “HEY KIDS” TODAY ON MUCH.CA

24 March 2015 (Toronto, ON) – 4X JUNO Award-winning rock band Arkells today premiered the official video for their song, “Hey Kids” on Much.ca and announced that 100 percent of the proceeds made from the song’s digital sales will be donated to Partners In Health Canada. On their latest Canadian tour, Arkells partnered with Plus One, the movement co-founded by Arcade Fire, to support Partners in Health Canada, a global health organization committed to global health equity and improving the health of the poor and marginalized, aims echoed in the video’s themes. "The experience of collaborating with Partners In Health and Plus One on our latest tour felt so unambiguously positive that we asked if we could offer a song to the cause.  Another small gesture, but I’d like to think that a collection of little good deeds adds up to something meaningful,” said Max Kerman, lead singer, Arkells. “Our friend, filmmaker Joe DiBenedetto directed the video at The Dundas Valley Montessori School in Hamilton. It might be our favourite video yet. If you’ve got a buck to spare and dig the tune, know that all of the proceeds are going to a good place." “Hey Kids” official video “Hey Kids” iTunes link For more information on Partners In Health Canada visit pihcanada.org and to keep up on the impact your dollar has made follow Plus One at facebook.com/orgplus1. About Arkells: Arkells (Max Kerman, Mike DeAngelis, Anthony Carone, Nick Dika, Tim Oxford) formed nine years ago and have since become one of Canada’s most successful rock bands. High Noon, released on August 2014, landed at #1 on the Canadian iTunes chart and debuted at #3 on the overall Canadian Neilsen Soundscan chart and #2 on the Digital Albums chart. At the 2015 JUNO Awards in Hamilton, Ontario, Arkells won ‘Rock Album of the Year’ for High Noon and ‘Group of the Year’ and did a unique performance of “Come to the Light” accompanied by Boris Brott and the National Academy Orchestra of Canada. The band’s current single, “Leather Jacket” also recently landed at #1 on the Alternative chart in Canada. Jackson Square, the band's first full length LP was released in 2008 to critical and commercial acclaim, garnering them a JUNO Award for ‘New Group of The Year’ in 2010. Arkells’ sophomore album, Michigan Left, brought the band to the forefront again in 2011, where they put on an electric performance at the Grey Cup in Vancouver. Shortly after, Arkells were named ‘Best Live Act’ by CBC Radio 3 and, in 2012 they won the JUNO Award for ‘Group of the Year’. High Noon was written in Hamilton, is produced by Tony Hoffer (Beck, The Kooks, M83), and includes the band’s hit single “Come to Light”. This collection of songs is the band's most unabashed effort yet – politically charged, heart-on-your-sleeve lyrics, combined with modern and throwback production styling. Arkells have toured with acts such as Metric, The Tragically Hip, Tokyo Police Club, British Sea Power, Anti-Flag and The Black Crowes.
