07 April 2017 (Toronto, ON) – Less than a week after performing at the 2017 JUNO Awards, gold-selling alt-rockers Arkells release “Knocking At The Door”, an upbeat and empowering track written while on their most recent tour. The band teased the release of the brand new single earlier this week on their socials with visual teasers titled “Knocking,” “At,” “The” and finally “Door” late last night. “Knocking At The Door” is available digitally now and will be featured on a Deluxe Edition of the band’s most recent album, Morning Report. The Deluxe Edition of the album will be released later this spring via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. "We kicked off this year with a tour across North America. The top of 2017 proved to be an inspiring time to travel the continent, and the experience of playing for different communities began to inform new musical ideas," said frontman, Max Kerman. "Every night on stage, new melodies, words and arrangements began percolating throughout the band. When we came home we got right to work on this song. We didn't want to wait around to release it. We wanted you to hear it now.” Listen to “Knocking At The Door”. With no shortage of new music for fans, Arkells released a “My Heart’s Always Yours” remix EP last month featuring remixes by alt-pop phenom Lights and indie darlings The Darcys. Also last month, Arkells and Québec musician Anik Jean released “Alive”, the first single taken from the BON COP, BAD COP 2 soundtrack, scheduled for release on April 28. Sung in both English and French, Anik Jean collaborated with Arkells frontman Max Kerman and drummer Tim Oxford for the song, as well as with Antoine Gratton for the orchestration direction. Since the release of Morning Report, Arkells have spent much of the year touring, playing some of the biggest festivals in the U.S., including Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo; building their audience and solidifying their reputation as a passionate, high-energy, live-rock authority. In addition to performing at the 2017 JUNO Awards this past weekend, they were nominated for Group of The Year and Rock Album of The Year. This summer, Arkells are slated to play a host of marquee festivals including Coachella, Shaky Knees, Osheaga and Festival d'été de Québec, and they have a sold-out show with July Talk at Budweiser stage in Toronto on June 24.
