25 August 2017 (Toronto, ON)Avicii has today shared the official video for “Without You” from his current EP AVĪCI, released earlier this month via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Featuring Swedish singer Sandro Cavazza on vocals, the track was one of the first to come together following a once-in-a-lifetime road trip from California across to Florida, via the Grand Canyon. A track focused on the power of freedom and independence, Avicii says the song is about “leaving the nest but in terms of love. A break-up but a bit deeper.”

AVĪCI is Avicii’s first new music to be released since 2015 and since announcing his retirement from touring last year. In addition to this collaboration with Sandro Cavazza, the EP also sees Avicii team up with Rita Ora (“Lonely Together”), AlunaGeorge (“What Would I Change It To”), Billy Raffoul (“You Be Love”) and Vargas & Lagola (“Friend Of Mine”).

AVĪCI has been incredibly well received thus far, with impressive numbers and plays across a variety of platforms. “Without You” is currently number 22 in the Spotify Global Top 40, having been streamed over 25 million times, whilst “Lonely Together” sits at number 35 with over 18 million streams. In addition to streaming success, “Without You” has been growing on radio across the globe and also shot up the global Shazam charts this week to #35.

In 2011, Avicii achieved monumental success both critically and commercially with the release of “Le7els”, which became a No. 1 dance hit in the U.S. and the U.K, topping the charts in six other countries before earning him a Grammy nomination. His 2013 debut LP True spawned four-time platinum-selling, guitar-laden hit “Wake Me Up” which went to No. 1 in 81 countries and became the most streamed song of all time on Spotify - and is still the most Shazamed song worldwide to date. In 2014, Avicii released his second album Stories, spawning the international hit “Waiting for Love” – a number 1 hit in 22 countries.
