BIG SHAQ RETURNS WITH NEW SINGLE “MAN DON’T DANCE”

THE SINGLE FOLLOWS WORLDWIDE SMASH HIT

“MAN’S NOT HOT”

18 MAY 2017 (TORONTO, ON) - Today, global sensation Big Shaq unveils his brand new single “Man Don’t Dance” via Island Records/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company.

Since Island Records gave up and coming MC Big Shaq the chance to finally release his debut single “Man’s Not Hot” back in October, he has fast permeated into the mainstream from viral phenomenon. With over 170 million streams, 2.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify and 264 million YouTube views, Big Shaq, aka Michael Dapaah, shows no signs of slowing down.

Giving the world what it truly needs for Summer, untouchable lyricist is back  with a brand new single for 2018. “Man Don’t Dance” sees the South London ‘roadman’ parody travel to Dubai, find love, and even - dare we say it - take off his jacket.

Big Shaq’s unprecedented success has so far seen him cement himself in history as the highest charting debut act of 2017, after first crashing Charlie Sloth’s “Fire In The Booth” (BBC Radio 1Xtra show). Since then, the London-based rapper has garnered endorsements from the likes of Drake, Usain Bolt, DJ Khaled, Noel Gallagher, and Liam Gallagher, while Danny Welbeck, Dua Lipa, Jeremy Corbyn and Nicole Scherzinger have all made reference ‘Man’s Not Hot’ lyrics.

Big Shaq has played to audiences across the world (Europe, America, Russia, and Asia) - his most notable last London show - a Christmas special dubbed ‘Big Shaq and Friends’, brought Stormzy, JME, Lethal Bizzle, Krept & Konan and more to share the stage at Brixton’s Electric. Fans will also be able to catch him at festivals throughout the summer including Wireless and Reading & Leeds.
