BOBBY BAZINI RELEASES C’EST LA VIE MUSIC VIDEO
14 OCTOBER 2016 (Toronto, ON) – Multiplatinum, soul-infused, singer-songwriter Bobby Bazini today reveals the video for C’est La Vie, the first single from his third album, Summer Is Gone, available November 11 via Universal Music Canada, the country's leading music company. Directed by Emma Higgins (Dear Rouge, Brave Shores, Dan Talevski), the visuals complement the mood of Bazini’s stirring hit, released September 16, which is the #1 most-added Canadian song at radio this week.
C’est la Vie began with producer Martin Terefe (Shawn Mendes, Mike Posner, James Blunt, James Morrison) suggesting Bazini attempt growing something unexpected from the seed of this well-worn sentiment, to which the Montreal native returned with a poignant lyric which avoids the pitfalls of syrupy sentimentality sometimes associated with the phrase. As Bazini has said, “the meaning is important in this song. It’s about being in love but also being ‘at love’ – not a fiery phase of early passion in a relationship but a gentle bond which gives fortitude. Love will set you free, it’s true."
Available in standard and 13-track deluxe editions, Summer Is Gone follows Bazini’s 2014 smash Where I Belong, which was the biggest-selling Canadian album of that year and also earned Bazini his fourth JUNO nomination, for Album of the Year. For Summer Is Gone, Bazini has for the first time collaborated with co-writers on his material, working in Los Angeles, Nashville, and London – the prestigious list includes Terefe, Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran, One Direction), Samuel Dixon (Adele, SIA), Jimmy Hogarth (Amy Winehouse, James Bay), EG White (Florence and the Machine, Adele), and country sensation Chris Stapleton.
