BRANDON WISHAM TURNS UP THE HEAT ON NEW SINGLE & LYRIC VIDEO “TEARS IN HER TEQUILA”
BREAKOUT COUNTRY ARTIST NOW ON MASSIVE NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
WITH MULTI-PLATINUM STAR NATE SMITH
27 MARCH 2026 (TORONTO, ON) — Today, ascending singer/songwriter Brandon Wisham returns with his tender new single “Tears In Her Tequila.” Accompanied by a lyric video, the empathetic but undeniably catchy track spotlights Wisham’s captivating vocals and adventurous brand of country. Go HERE to listen to “Tears In Her Tequila” now, and check out the lyric video HERE.
Written by Wisham, Micah Carpenter (Cole Swindell, Megan Moroney), and Bart Butler (George Strait, Bailey Zimmerman), “Tears In Her Tequila” arrives as a bittersweet country lament lit up in last-call neon. With both deep sensitivity and clear-eyed observation, the 23-year-old artist tells the tale of the heartbreak hiding beneath a wild night out.
Produced by Matt Geroux (Josh Ross, Just Jayne), “Tears In Her Tequila” centers on a remarkably restrained vocal performance from Wisham, who delivers the song’s narrative with a simmering intensity (the opening lines: “She’s wearin’ that goin’ out dress / But it ain’t what it looks like / Some boy made her heart a mess / Put a little more blue in her blue eyes”). In perfect lockstep with its barroom setting, the laid-back but hypnotic track fuses its classic country instrumentation with driving rhythms and dance-ready beats, taking on a soaring momentum at the chorus (“There’s tears in her tequila / But it’s still goin’ down / She’s tryna hide the leavin’ / But she can’t drown it out”). After shifting toward subtle flirtation in the second verse (“I’ll be the one to help you forget him / Let’s turn this night around”), Wisham builds to a message of warmhearted reassurance at the bridge: “There’s tears in her tequila / That should be a crown / Babygirl, I see ya, but it’s gon’ be alright.”
Directed by Kate Bowling the lyric video for “Tears In Her Tequila” revolves around a still photo of Wisham, with each line emblazoned across the patch of his camo trucker hat.
In a testament to the sheer breadth of his songwriting talents, “Tears In Her Tequila” follows Wisham’s soul-baring single “Good Grief” — a January release that reflects on the overwhelming pain of losing his father to Covid. Just over a year after delivering his debut single “Back Together” (a Southern rock powerhouse hailed as a “stunning showcase of his raw, unfiltered artistry” by All Country News), the South Carolina-bred musician has amassed an eclectic catalog including “Growin’ Up” (an introspective coming-of-age anthem), “She’s Good” (a full-tilt country-rock banger), “Better Than The Day” (a post-breakup outpouring that marked his first feature on SiriusXM’s The Highway, who named him a “Highway Find”), and “Whiskey’s Whisperin" (a timeless country drinking song).
Tonight at Riverwind Casino in Norman, OK, Wisham will continue his recently launched run as support for multi-platinum hitmaker Nate Smith — an expansive North American tour including stops at legendary venues like Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth (tomorrow night) and Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium (a two-night stand on June 17 and 18). A fast-rising live performer who’s previously opened for superstars like Bailey Zimmerman (his repeat collaborator), Wisham will also make his highly anticipated debut at Stagecoach next month, taking the stage at the massively popular country festival on Sunday, April 26. About Brandon Wisham:
A powerful new voice in country music, 23-year-old singer/songwriter Brandon Wisham possesses the kind of raw talent that instantly commands the spotlight. Originally from Savannah, Georgia but raised in Williamston, South Carolina, he grew up as the youngest of seven children and took up guitar as a child, then began playing cover shows in local bars when he was just 15. At 19, he wrote his first-ever song — “Pain Won’t Last,” a heartrending track about losing his father to Covid — and quickly landed a global publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music and The Core Entertainment. Along with cutting his own version of “Pain Won’t Last” for 2023’s platinum-certified Religiously. The Album., country superstar Bailey Zimmerman enlisted the rising young musician as support for a major tour that launched in LA in early 2024. After spending much of last year on the road (including a run of dates with Josh Ross) and captivating sold-out rooms with just his soulful vocals and acoustic guitar, Wisham headed into the studio with producer Brandon Hood (Ty Myers, Mackenzie Carpenter). Wisham kicked off the year with the release of his debut single “Back Together” followed by “Better Than The Day,” which shortly after got added to SiriusXM The Highway On The Horizon. With “Growin’ Up,” Wisham shows his more introspective side and serves up a sing-along-ready reflection on coming of age, while his latest track, “She’s Good,” adds an emotionally charged anthem to his growing catalog. With just four songs out, SiriusXM The Highway named Wisham as a recent “Highway Find.” Wisham also made his CMA Fest debut this year as well as joined Chase Matthew on stage for his Kansas City show. Now gearing up for his Stagecoach debut, Wisham recently joined Tyler Hubbard, Lakeview, Austin Snell, and Nate Smith on tour. New tracks like “Whiskey’s Whisperin’” continue to build on his momentum and give a further glimpse into his reflective storytelling. The Nashville-based artist is revealing the full force of his musical prowess on his first series of singles — a deeply personal batch of songs graced with equal parts unfiltered humanity and fiercely hopeful spirit.
